Getting my first crx Saturday. Been wanting one for years and have known for a while I wanted to do a b16 swap. I’ve watched all your videos and can’t wait for more videos and tips on the swap. Definitely subscribed to see what’s next haha

Oh man thank you so much! I'm glad my videos have helped in some way. More videos to come soon! What year/model/color CRX are you getting?

just curious why you didn't upgrade to obd1 and just us a conversion harness adaptor. the adaptor has a sub harness for the vtec and other sensors. there would be no need to de pen the ecu wiring.

I may do that eventually. B16 Vtec ecu's aren't cheap and would require two conversion harnesses and an OBD1 distrubutor. P28 ECU with Hondata would cost even more. So, one step at a time for now....and for this first round I'm interested in keep the motor/ecu stock/jdm paired.

I read things about caps going bad in ECU. Not sure if it applies to my 95 Civic Coupe EX so I am unsure if I should buy a spare now or wait till mine goes bad. Your thoughts?

Did you end up getting your ecu recapped?
@HiFiInsider Жыл бұрын
@@MakeItSo not yet. i’m saving up for respray then ECU because the car is currently running without issues.

Question. Is this you installing the harness from the b16 to the chassis harnesses?
@MakeItSo Жыл бұрын
No, This is me converting my D16 (stock CRX) engine harness to work with the B16. You only have to add 4 wires for vtec.
@karlmarceljensson13232 жыл бұрын
Do you did not use the b16 engine harness or you just used the d series right ?
@MakeItSo2 жыл бұрын
I used the D-Series harness. It's a perfect fit, just had to run 4 separate wires for VTEC.

@@MakeItSo what did youbget the harness out of I'm doing a hatchback
@MakeItSo2 жыл бұрын
@@sie1312 I'm using the stock engine harness that came with the D-Series motor. I've read that in general you're supposed to keep the engine wiring harness that's original to the car and adapt it to work with the new motor, so it plugs into the chassis harness with no problems.

Esta ecu funciona con un motor b16a2?
@MakeItSo Жыл бұрын
No, esta ECU es para un JDM B16A que es OBD0. Creo que el B16A2 es OBD1 por lo que no sería compatible.

Did you sell the pm6 ecu?
@MakeItSo2 жыл бұрын
No I didn't sell it. Was going to hang onto it as long as I have the D-Series motor sitting around.
