Oh, man, I almost cried watching this! Great memories of '69 / '70 of trail riding this little bike. So much joy. It was so much better than a mini-bike! I also had a Honda 50 - the "little brother." We used to sneak out of the house in the middle of the night and go trail riding in the woods. To realize that was 46 years ago - so hard to believe.

I rode one of these every day for 10 years to work and back. I am 7' 8" and never had a problem with comfort or power. These are fantastic machines!

Very nice. I am rebuilding my 1969 CT70K0 auto just like yours. We bent the frame jumping it as kids so I got a 91 frame and its being fully restored by myself with a little help from my dad on the 88cc kit install. Decided to do Emerald Green cause I had a 1970HK0 and my brother had this one. Still glad I bought it for 50 bucks from him 20 years ago! LOL.

My parents bought me a new one in 1971. It was exactly like yours except it was a gold color. I put 4500 miles on it almost all of them in the dirt. I say almost all of them, because the one time I took it on the pavement to go to a friends house I got a ticket! 2 blocks on pavement and a highway patrolman got me. 9 years old in court! The thing would run for a couple of days on 15 cents of regular. Oh god, those were the days! It was something seeing your bike run and being ridden.

Nice bike. Also nice to see it with all the pieces. Our orange '74 was stripped but the price was right and it's already dinged up so we're not afraid to ride it! Great little bikes.

Handle bars that fold. Nice transportation aide the handle bars had. Fun to ride better than a mini bike. Bikes that era had little suspension travel.

One of the most popular editorial topics in current moto-mags is this, "is motorcycling doomed?"... and I wish all the ct70 and mini-trail enthusiasts could convince Honda to make a new mini. There is nothing where there used to be two choices. The mini-trail 50 or ct70 was a bike my Dad could ride, even though I rode it 30 years ago, now what? A CRF70F? A Ruckus? What a bummer. Your ct70 looks and sounds great BTW. LOVE IT.

Cool. I had a '78 when I was a kid. I think I sold it for about $300 in 1985 or so. I wish I would have kept it!!!!!!

I remember having one of these when I was 10 years old. No lever clutch, it's centrifugal. My dad jumped on it one day started accelerating down the road went to shift gears and pulled the rear brake (which normally is the clutch hand lever) and he locked up the rear tire. I started laughing my ass off.

@wunshliste Mine with the cammed 88cc kit will do between 55 and 60 with the 3 speed auto cluch. :-) Speedo quit moving so I really don't know the true speed. Need to video it, and GPS it with my droid this summer.

Sir, this trail 70, does it have roots in Minnesota? If so, I can give you pretty much it's entire life history up until about 1980 or thereabouts. J
