Looks nice, it must be great being as tall as you are with the front end raised to that standard, you’ll still be able to keep your feet on the ground. Thanks for the detail and thanks for posting.

Thanks for the reply. Did you look at a different swingarm to get a fatter & slightly taller rear tyre in? I know you said it would be a lot of work. This would also help with chain tension when moving through the whole range of rear travel. Currently I think yours would be loose in some places and tight in others. I am looking into this due to our prolonged wet spell and getting mine bogged on the farm, not much fun in that.

I’d like a longer swing arm, the kepspeed ones look cool Bloody pricey though.

Nice one mate, looks great, I'm looking at getting a postie bike just to do tracks and trails around home not going to far but I'd like it to be capable. I'd rather stick to a carby model, what year did they end and is there a more desirable year bike to get and I also really like the hi/low, I never knew that came on postie bikes, it was on my 90 trike I had many moons ago, I like the fact that it's raised up a bit, is there front forks that aren't quite so tall. Any info would be very much appreciated mate. Take care. Seeya Rob

The ct110 with the carby were made up until 2012 I believe, the hi/low gearbox was only on some of the older versions. If you don’t want long forks I would just stick with the standard ones but maybe put some stiffer springs in , which I believe you can buy from lambda

Great work and good info. Were there any mods for the forks & wheel combo required like different triples, axle, bearings etc. and if so which ones. Also did you need a longer chain due to more rear wheel travel? Did you look at a larger rear wheel? Thanks Bob.
@Brennosguitarsandgear
@Brennosguitarsandgear 2 жыл бұрын
I replaced the entire front end with the Xl185 , so the forks , triple tree etc is all XL185. Still ct110 handlebars. The xl185 front tire is way too big , that’s why I went with the xl100 wheel. Same chain , a bigger rear wheel wouldn’t fit without major modifications.

With the xl 185 did you have to make any alterations to the existing frame ? Did you use the bearings from the ct forks or the xl forks? Or were you lucky enough to just make the swap with little or no effort? Being here in America can you define what a postie is.

@@brettdavid6491 Hey mate , no modifications to the frame , but had to much around with the bearing stem a bit. You can see the full mods here www.tapatalk.com/groups/hondatrailcts/ct110-enduro-dirt-bike-project-t11734.html And we call them postie bikes in Australia as that’s what the postal workers used to ride to deliver the mail.

did you have to lengthen the XL185 triple tree spindle? I tried and it seems to come up short...

@@Brennosguitarsandgear interesting approach with the inner thread tap. I think I might cut and lengthen the stem with an inner guide dowel, I have a dead pitbike head stock to use a possible spacer sleeve.

Yes, my '81 ct110 has the hi/low. My '80 ct110 does not. I think that year was the oddball without it until the 125 came along. Not 100% sure about that. US models.

Forgot to give props to Brenno. Nicely done, man. What a nice mod(s) and bet it's a blast to ride. I love the low range for the crazy steeps we have here in Southern California. I can climb hills (putt-putt style) like a mountain goat in low range, and it's not scary like it was on my DR650😅. I don't want to mess with my complete original stock bikes just because I want to maintain the no mods value. But would like to do what you've going on a bike that's already been "adjusted" a bit. LOL. Where did you get your seat, Brenno? I like the low profile and wide look
