What's with the negative comments here? Have you people even ridden it? It's a gorgeous bike and it's extremely comfortable.

Didn't mention ... the mirrors are behind the handlebars and the panniers are much smaller than they look and non removable. Sound system works well and it looks utterly amazing (esp deluxe in blackout). It sounds whiney on start up but grunts more at about 2.7k which lowers its town-cool factor. Very comfortable but little or no front suspension , ripples in the road can cause you to blip the immense power at the throttle. It's an odd, experimental bike. I'm getting to love mine... but its an acquired taste, oh and a massive conversation starter.... oh yes the led lighting arrangement is amazingly effective at lighting up the bike, and the road. Goldwingers wave at you too.

Honda is killing it! if I were in the market for a bike, right now, I would be torn between so many Hondas: CTX, VFR, Interceptor, CB1100F, F6B. It's a good thing I am poor, I guess.
@shaneenerson841811 жыл бұрын
I don't know what Honda is thinking lately. I had a ST1300 for years and it was a good bike but it definitely needed to be upgraded. The CTX line hasn't been good for Honda I see the 700's for sale with low miles I think this one will be worse for them. Honda's design department needs to start over

+Shane Enerson I disagree. This bike is a good bike. I ride one, and you will see it on my channel. I have had other bikes before, and to me, this is an improvement from what I used to have with a 1998 Suzuki LS650 with a leaky Head gasket, bad fork seals, oil coming out of the exhaust, and poor gas mileage. I made the mistake of trading in a 2005 Honda Rebel for that bike, because at the time Bikers Against Child Abuse local chapter wanted me to get a higher cc bike, and then I was sold that P.O.S. 1998 Suzuki LS 650 from one of their members. I quit going to their meetings after that. Even though it is not the ST1300, they tried to upgrade it to what they thought was a better bike. I just wish they would have not sold it for the price they did when it first came out, now it is a bike that is not made anymore.

They had a much nicer Bike with the VTX 1800. Honda definitely likes to march to the beat of it's own Drum. It truly has become a Car company that also still makes Bikes.

I saw this at a dealer for the first time 4/26/14 and I was very impressed. Why? The weight. First, I think Honda should target this at the Baby Boomers for a Light touring bike. I am 63 and I can tell that my strength and balance is a little off from when I was in my 40's. I have been thinking of a Goldwing but the weight has me concerned and I have been a fan of the twisties all my life and a heavy goldwing is not the ticket for that. My wife loves to ride along and I think a GW type luxury passenger seating arrangement on this bike would entice me to let go of the cash. There needs to be a nice after market shield for this and some cool comfy accessories that would turn it into a sweet lightweight Goldwing for us oldie but goodie bikers

***** There is a digital "clock" on it. It is at the top left part of the middle screen. It is a great bike to ride. I have one, and you can see me ride it on my channel. I will do another review on it soon on my channel. This bike does NOT have cruise control that comes standard with the Deluxe model. That would cost extra, and probably even more expensive if you have the dealer install it, unless you can get it with the deal of the bike when you buy it. I have ridden mine without a cruise control, and it is fine without one. I have had a "cruise control" on a previous bike, but that was more of a throttle lock, and it was a Pain in the A** in my opinion.

More performance than a v twin cruiser, don't believe it. I just bought CTX and so far have buyers remorse. Nice looking bike , but is no cruiser , no feel of a cruiser as it is more a tourer than anything. Though it has enough power, well all I can say is my Victory would out accelerate it with ease. Suspension leaves alot to be desired and the annoying engine noise sounds like a bag full of crickets. Honda took the ST 1300 V4 and detuned it to try to imitate a cruiser but it just don;t work. The bike has appealed to only a small group of people as here in the states it just doesn't fit in. There is a reason why Honda only produced it for 1 year in the states.

I dunno, I can't seem to figure this thing out. Kinda like the VFR1200F - I couldn't figure that one out either. But that's another story! Part of me wants to really hate this CTX1300, as it just looks kinda goofy to me. Then I see a rider on it and it seems to change character, It looks very comfortable and handles pretty well. I also have always liked that V4 mill, so I'm sure performance is good. It's definitely gotta have a taller windshield, though. And there is chromed plastic where there should be real chromed parts, at least for the money you are paying for it. I guess there is only one thing to do - go see one up close and personal and ride one if I can. I'm curious enough to give it a shot.
@renegadebiker248 жыл бұрын
+Dennis M I think you will like it. I own one and ride it consistently on my channel, and have even done my first oil change and oil filter change on it by myself.
@dennism19198 жыл бұрын
+renegadebiker24. I decided I was curious enough about it that I did go ride one - 2 actually, as the first one ran rough and stalled a few times during the test, so we went back and I took the second one they had there. overall it's not a bad bike, in fact it has potential. But it just didn't do it for me. The engine is rev limited at 7K which drove me nuts, and while the front felt good the rear shocks were terrible. I ended up buying a Victory Vision, which just was a better fit for me. But I am glad I rode the CTX.
@renegadebiker248 жыл бұрын
Dennis M Cool, Well, it seems that maybe the dealership probably did not take care of and maintained the bike, it sounds like. The rev limo\it is something that I try not to push on it consistently, because I just do not see a point in revving it that high, and the rear shocks probably could have been adjusted a little better. The Vision is a good bike too. Well, that is good that you tried different bikes to see which one fit you better. The CTX is probably not for everyone, however, compared to the Vision, it is probably cheaper now.
@dennism19198 жыл бұрын
+renegadebiker24 Yeah the sales guy was pretty embarrassed! Hey, it happens. And there were some good things with the CTX. Over all it had a nice feel and it turned into a corner nicely. brakes were good too. I am literally a big guy which of course is always a factor. I rode many different bikes before buying the Vision, which was the last bike I tested. It was love at first sit!
@renegadebiker248 жыл бұрын
Dennis M Oh o.k. Yes, being a big guy is a big factor because of the weight limit on the bike.Some bikes were really not made for the big guys because of the weight limit on it, and that is probably why it was like that. I am glad that you got the Vision. The Vision is probably going to be my next bike as well. We will have to meet up some day so we can go riding together. I bet it would be fun to travel the Arkansas roads with you. :) Will you be coming to Bikes, Blues, and BBQ this year? If you do, I could take you on some twisty roads here in Arkansas that I do like personally, like the Arkansas Dragon, and the Pig Trail for example.

Shorty screen gives attitude? attitude doesn't redirect the elements around me . Honda has a cool looking bike here. Love the V4 and the chrome headers but If I didn't want a windshield, I would buy a bike without a windshield . Silly to make most everyone buy a real windshield before they even break it in. So if purchasing , add the cost of a real windshield.
@renegadebiker248 жыл бұрын
+Jim Tom Stimpson Well, it is at a more manageable price now to where if you wanted to add a tall windscreen, you can. It was way overpriced when it first came out, however, I do love this bike, and you can see me ride it on my channel.

So take the outdated ST1300 engine and give it just 5 tall gears, Add low seat height with silly looks. It's the perfect bike for young professionals who want to park a bike in their garage and sell it five years later with only 800 miles on it. It promises soul numbing performance with joyless style. Honda practically invented the modern motorcycle. What on earth happened to them?
@renegadebiker248 жыл бұрын
+Alberto Knox Well, I have close to 10,000 miles on that bike, and I still own it, and have yet to sell it. As far as joyless style, I seriously doubt that, because I seem to get a lot of compliments on it when I ride, and I ride it a lot.
@Miata8228 жыл бұрын
Wow! You sure have a Lot of videos! Seems like you're getting a lot of use out of that bike. I live in Texas but get to Arkansas whenever I can for the wonderful roads (and to visit family). No doubt the Honda has a well proven engine and will provide years of economical transportation in the open air. It just really, really doesn't appeal to me and I have seen very few on the road, not that scarcity is a bad thing. Looks like you've put all those miles on in about a year. That's a fair bit of riding. I'll sub you channel and see what it's about. Keep the shiny side up :)
@renegadebiker248 жыл бұрын
Alberto Knox Yep, I sure do. LOL :) I think I am maybe trying to get as many vlogs out there as possible, and possibly surpass CycleCruza as the guy with a lot of vlogs. LOL :) Yep, I guess you can say, I am getting a lot of use out of it. :) Cool. The next time you are in Northwest Arkansas, let me know, and we can go riding some of the roads like the Pig Trail or the Arkansas Dragon, or even one that I am hoping to do next sunday, and that is Push Mountain, or I might go to Mansfield, Missouri to see Laura Ingalls Wilder's home from Little House on the Prairie TV series. Yep, the Honda does have a well proven engine, and it is something that I enjoy riding compared to a lot of the other bikes I have ridden. Oh, o.k. I guess some people it does not appeal to. The reason I think there is not a few on the road is because of the piss poor marketing of this bike. If they would have marketed it better, it would have sold better, I think, like the designer had talked about in a video, that he said it was designed on the image of the bald eagle. The headlights and the front part of the bike represent the eagle's wings and feathers, while, I think the tail section, looks like the tail section of the bald eagle when it is in flight with the design of it. Yep, it is a lot of riding. The miles are all on there in about actually 2+ years.I use it to commute back and forth to work when the weather is good, and travel this state as well. I have tried to go up to Sturgis 2 years ago, but I did not make it because of the heavy cross wind, and the load I had on the back. I am planning on going to D.C. in May as part of the Run For The Wall ride during Memorial Week, and going to the Vietnam wall and Arlington Cemetery, as well as maybe seeing some other sights there, that I am going to video tape on the way there and back. I will be starting from Forrest City, Arkansas on May 22nd. Thanks for subbing to my channel. A word of warning though, I am a consistent, habitual vlogger and uploader. LOL :) Will do. :)

I rode Push Mountain for the first time last year. Great road. Seeing deer and recent rain kept me from really hammering it but it was hard to hold back.
@renegadebiker248 жыл бұрын
Alberto Knox Cool, It will actually be my second time on it. The last time I was on it, the group that I was with, never stayed together with me, so they would ride their own ride, and I would be left behind consistently. I got so tired of it, I decided that I probably was going to do it on my own. Yep, that is something that Arkansas is known for, I think sometimes, is the rain. The weather patterns here are a mix variety. This is why I usually always check the weather channel before I go on a long trip from my home, just in case, so I am not surprised by the weather. For instance, it is supposed to be nice for today and tomorrow, then the rain hits on Wednesday, then it is supposed to be nice the rest of thee week, all the way up to Sunday, and then it varies from week to week. You definitely have to watch out for the deer here. This is why I have deer warning on the front of my bike. I experienced one time to see if it did work, and sure enough they worked on a hill I was going up to work one day, and it startled one deer to where it would not cross the road, while the other one made it across without me hitting it, on a incline of a hill. Yep, here in Arkansas, I think it has more curves probably than the most voluptuous woman I have ever seen. LOL :)

Its too bad Honda can't get any more performance out of the V4. Then it would be able to compete with the Councours 14 and the BMW. I test rode the ST1300 and it was not even close in power.

Ben Bourne Yes, it is true. When I got it back in 2014, it was about $19,000 , now it is less than that, however it is hard to find in some areas thanks to Honda orphaning it. I think it sells for less than $19k at NADA or Kelley Blue Book website shows what it retails for now at: www.kbb.com/motorcycles/honda/ctx1300d-ctx1300-deluxe-abs/2014/?pricetype=retail , and that is for the deluxe version, or the one I have. The NADA website on it is at: www.nadaguides.com/Motorcycles/2014/Honda/CTX1300D-DELUXE-1261cc/Values (However, on this site, it is based on zip code, for an accurate price.) If you would like to know where you can get the service manual for cheaper than where you can get it at a dealer price, it is at: www.service-shop-repair-manual.com/honda-ctx1300-ctx1300a-part-61mjn00-service-shop-repair-manual/ (This is where I got my service manual from, and you can find other service manuals on there for probably cheaper than what you can find in a dealership, in my opinion.)

Steve Pace You can install a taller windshield on it like I did, and what do you mean, no fairing? There is fairings on it. It is a cross between a sport bike and a touring bike and a cruiser. You can probably add cruise control on it, but it will cost u a little more, since it is a brand new bike, and has not been on the market for that long.
