The modification is the plate on top of engine where breather pipe comes out and goes to airbox. it's been modified inside and out takes about 3 hours so I'm led to believe. But it seems to be working .

Usually, there in no problems with Honda engines ??? May be, 90 hp are too much for this engine, less than 800 cc, take care because burning oil could be an issue with the catalyser !! i'm an old french biker from the south of France and i'm a race mecanicician, ride safe my friend

My NT1100 has had the modification for the oil consumption issues. Mine is 1 of the first to be done and was using about 1/4 liter every 1000 miles. I did 200 miles today and it feels so different, crisper throttle even sounds different now the spark plugs aren't getting fouled. It didn't have anything in rear drain from air box when i got back and looked like it hadn't used a drop of oil 😊.

Update, in Portugal Honda they already collected a week ago colleagues's motorcycle where the engine valve cover was replaced. Theres a new version of the part!

Hey man, Sorry for late reply: well on 16,5k km they have changed the head of engine. They put 10w30 and problem was still there BUT now on 23026 km they did standart check and they have put 10W40 thicker oil! Wont celebrate yet i did 850km since but looks it didnt move at all. Will tell you when I do 1000km or 2000km more!! Hopefully the thicker oil will be the solution

@@michsky46 actually tft is not fine as touch screen not working at low temperatures and this adds to a oil burning engine for 20k bike it s pretty shitty to try to convince the dealership to replace part. It’ 4 months now waiting for the tft solution counting months until warranty is off. Fuck sake should have bought an old man bike like GS 1250

yes, Honda said that according to compression test done by them, the inner parts of engineer fine because they gave positive numbers very good numbers and it said they told me they will not do anything that is fine and dealer. Just change the oil from 1030 to 10 W40 and with this oil after 880 km. There was no oil consumption and there is as well no oil in the breeders and looks all around very thick oil that

If notches in piston rings align, you might have a slight compression problem. It does not burn that much oil. Check your airbox. If it is covered with oil, tell the dealer to check the compression. Usually some oil is there, but it shouldn't have too much oil. If you have friends in automotive dealers, ask them for a Borescope Camera. Take the spark plugs from the engine (the ones on the side of the engine are OK) and stick the borescope inside the spark plug whole (check each cylinder) to see inside the engine. If you have scratches inside, that is the problem. And it is serious... If there are scratches, tell your dealer to change the motorcycle under warranty. If not, then listen to your dealer but change your oil to Putoline 10W 30 %100 synthetic. Make sure to disable cathelitic convertor. Cut the exhaust and take out the CAT. Since your motorcycle is burning oil, some of the un-burned oil might have gone to your exhaust system. If that happens, your CAT is most probably clogged. That has severe side effects on piston rings and on your engine in the long run. It starts with slight engine power loss, then power loss worsens until it is too late.

Hi, Well the scratches not necessarily a problem - (engine cylinder honing) if the scratches are crossed its normal. And the rest will do the dealer under warranty anyway. They told me is a Crank shaft ventilation problem and is vaporising the oil into airbox and burn!!!
