I really like your design. I have been trying to figure out how I can make a sleeping area, but still have a sitting area with a seat belt. Great work

I used to build seats for GM back in ‘86. I used to have to power sew the material not only each piece, especially if it used foam underneath it but sometimes combining pieces to make the seat cover come together. I also used to have to "skin" the cushions (called buns at the time) but also used to clip the covers to the buns with those rings. The term for the rings is, "hog-ring." Skinning the buns was terrible because you could develop carpel tunnel. We didn’t have or use zippers in the process of skinning the buns. So watching you tear down that seat brought back memories for me. Anyhoo…I’m liking what you are doing with the place. Some very cool ideas! It’s gonna be interesting to see how it works in seat mode. And after this tear down and build I hope you had TWO of your favourite pops at the end! 🙂

You should put a patent on that design and sell that setup. I'm sure there are some vanlife Element owners that would love to pay you to build that setup for them.

This is probably your most impressive build yet. It's amazing! Also, I know that's a really good battery and I'm a notorious worry wart, but just incase, don't sleep with your head over it.

I have a question…do you use a diesel heater? I bought a Ram Procity that is built inside by cascade campers. I’m not sure where to start because I want to do so cold weather camping.
@Tiny-Campers

No diesel heater for me. If it is that cold, I STAY HOME. My head is too bald to stand the cold. haha
@smartnfinal

nice conversion but i could never do it. not enough skill . surprised you used a existing seat and a tear down to make a folding bed versus making one with a board from scratch.
@Tiny-Campers
@Tiny-Campers 21 күн бұрын
This keeps the seat belt and folding mechanism fully intact. I will build a future bed without the frame.

using expensive wood like that to test cuts is a bit of a waste. get some foam core panels for templates. if you make a mistake on a foam core board that test piece can be fixed with tape n caps. : )) save some cash.
