HONDA FIT/ how to upgrade to LED headlights.

What brand of light did you purchase, also did it have a ballast, as I believe lights with a ballast are brighter and did you have oncoming traffic blinking highbeams at you? Great video thank you for your tips and advice keep up the great work.

Finally got a close up, thanks for the video. Just one question if you use the rubber dust cover to hold the headlight in, do you still use the retainer clip? I didn't see you attach it after using the rubber dust housing.

That's a good question, I used both. The dust cover is just not strong enough to keep the bulbs in place.

For my application - -I had to unplug the light-bulb -Take off the rubber boot -Remove factory light bulb (depress clip) -Insert adapter plate (press down clip) -Insert the led bulb into the rubber boot -Push the led/boot into the hole into the adapter plate. -Twist and lock it into place.

With this installation of lights, do I have to change the battery for one with more voltage?

Hi, not really. Everything works with the OEM battery, I have these installed over a year now, and no problems so far.

@@simplemods generally LED lights take less to power then halogen bulbs.

Pretty good video, might come handy soon. The last few cars my family had owned are Fits. I know this sounds like a stupid question, but is it possible to move the location of the lights?

I know this was 4 years ago. But those led bulbs for being two sided are good. The down side, is the led chips are way too big to Mimi’s the same beam pattern as oem halogen. Those are COB (Chip On Board) led chips. They are not design for headlights. It’s design to illuminate the interior space. I hope u have a better led bulbs like two sided tint led SMD,CSP, or ZES led chips that perform way better and mimics the oem halogen beam pattern. If not, I’d recommend Lasfit - LA plus, Lasfit - L1 plus fanless, Auxito - 10S, Auxito - M3. They will do much better than those by far

@@toyotabrony hey, thanks for your observations. One of those is partially failing. I am considering replacing them as long as they don't give DRL errors. By the way how's the heat dissipation on the back of the LED headlight you're recommending?

@@simplemodshonestly. The Lasfit - LA plus for being in all in one unit is the way to go. I saw from bulbfacts tested that after 27 minutes which is the average commuter time in the US. They get cooled 96 degrees Fahrenheit. Usually all in one gets warm above 150 degrees Fahrenheit. But not in this case with Lasfit - LA plus. They are truly worth $70 a pair. 30W per bulb, 3000 lumens per bulb, 1 year warranty. 6000k. But it’s actually 5950K. We have on our Toyota and Scion models and it’s worth the money. Remember, the higher the temperature, the shorter the lifespan. The lower the temperature, the longer the lifespan is. And the LA plus is a huge game changer. Definitely and highly recommend them. If u gonna put them in high beams. And it has DRL function, either u can disable them but pop the fuse out for DRL, or u can use Lasfit - anti - flicker kit. They will work well. But using them as DRL is almost in full power. So that’s up to u for ur best decision.

I changed the trunk light to LED and initially it works..but while snapping the housing back to where it belongs..the light stopped working..same goes to the dome light, and i found that my fuse was blown..after replacing the fuse, the dome light is working..but the trunk light is still not working..any idea?

I would check the polarity of the led, some of them have it, you can flip the bulb and make sure it has good contact.

Did this setoff the drl light after install?

No issues with the drl so far, they run like the regular OEM.

Yes, they work as normal, as long as you pick the same exact brand, you won't run with issues and codes.
