I have 4 of these carbs, all Japanese from my bike over the years, dad never really bothered rebuilding them. Seeing as a new oem carb is worth about $250 I’d say it’s worth it to learn how to rebuild them

I’m having problems with mine on Trx400fa the carb looks just like yours. When I blow air in that port for plastic piece and the diaphragm doesn’t go up and down. I don’t see any hole in that oblong opening like yours.

As far as the year goes how similar are the 1997s and the 2000 ones my dad gave me his old 2000 honda foreman 400 and it needs new rings and needs to be cleaned and I was just wondering if they were different or not

@@MidNebraskaMotorsports thanks for the reply. Do you have any videos showing how to change the piston rings on a honda foreman trx400 and maybe a link to the rings

This video was taken a long time ago. I don't remember if we ran it through an ultrasonic cleaner. If we didn't, that is all stained make that won't come off. If we did, then the stained area is very stained. Hit the subscribe button as we have a lot more videos coming out on this machine.
