It's also good to know that spending a good amount of time on a project is looking for that stupid "I can't figure out where I put that stupid tool, I just had that stupid tool." Good news. I have a solution. I now just take a box or tray and the tools I need go into it as I'm working and swap them out as needed and it's all in place to put away when I'm done. Have a tray big enough for the tools you're using for your project. Drawers work on a workbench if they're right in front of you and they're organized and know what you need when. But most of us don't work that way. Workbench gets cluttered, grabbing a tool here and there can become a chore. This solves the big problem of having tools laying all around you and not knowing where they are when you need them. Even when you set them between your legs they can get lost. Don't tell me this hasn't happened to you. Working from your toolbox or a shed it can take a lot of movement to find what you need unless you compartmentalize before hand. Keep the tools you're working with at hand as you grab them, put them into a central location to grab them as you need, and then put them away when you're done. Simple.

Great video, thank you! I had the same spinning stud/bolt problem last week (before I found your video...) on a Honda Izy mower with the GCV 160 engine. Eventually after going over and back several times between KZbin and fiddling with the mower and then cursing and then KZbin some more I realised the stud itself could just twist out. I got the starter off and did what I needed. I screwed the stud back tightly into its socket and gave the nut some oil so it wouldn't be such a problem the next time. It's a really good engine and has worked well for years.

one of the white pieces came loose on mine. It still recoils however. Do I need to replace the whole thing? I know they're cheap on Amazon.

What size vise grip do I use on the screws? 2 of mine wouldn't budge so I did keep unscrewing from the top until they came out of the engine block but now I'm stuck on how to separate them from the cover.

@@smallengineguys where do I put the vise grips? On the top of engine cover on the metal cap or underneath the cover where the screw flares out? Sorry to be such a pain but never had a problem like this before.
