Cool video, I often wondered how this was done couldn’t you make a wooden jig on a piece of plywood for the hub and the rim to set in so when you assemble it it should be nearly spot on for lining it up. Just a thought. 😁👍🏻

Yes that would be a great option if I was doing a lot of the same wheel, but as this is a one off it would take as long to make the jig as doing it like this. Thanks for the comments and glad you're enjoying the vids!

I'm a professional guitar maker and was wondering, how is he going to make sure the spokes are equally tensioned?,...Is he going to count the threads or something? I felt pretty stup!d when you hit the spoke with the screw driver and it made a perfect pitch 😁 You could literally tighten up those spokes with a chap $10 guitar tuner and have perfect tension all the way around. One thing to consider though is, that you change the pitch of each spoke if you cross it with another spoke and those two spokes touch each other. It's hard to see on the video, but if they touch each other, you've basically divide the length of a spoke in two parts and depending on which side of the crossed section you hit them, they will make a different sound. That's why some of the spokes on the old wheel didn't sound all the same when you "aimlessly" hit them with the screw driver. That, or they just were way off tension. There is a bit more to it, but I don't think that it's relevant on the scale of a motorcycle wheel. Grate job with the wheel. It looks amazing.

Great job!!! How can I get closeup of the DID sticker on your rims as I'd like to get some made up by a chap who makes reproduction stickers for the GL, but doesn't have this and needs a good example. Is there any way I can get in touch?

The DID sticker on the front wheel is in better condition than the rear. I'll be lacing the front one at the weekend so I'll take a high res pic of it and share it via Dropbox.

@SuccessShared as promised, here's the dropbox link to a couple of high res images of the DID stickers. They measure 25mm x 13mm: www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/gfbshbdkdgxfjrzrk041d/h?rlkey=14qzn17ru6mejr4y628yam6el&dl=0 Hope that helps!
