Just wanted to thank you for this painful trip down memory lane Bruce and waited the entire video for you to spill that jar of fuel you did not put the lid on lol. Amazing how much replacement parts cost here in Canada. Just got the notification from Stens that they needed to increase prices on around 20,000 items as of April 1st and that is no joke. They happen to be our major OEM and aftermarket supplier.

I have done this once before but only works if the tire is same side and the other axle. I did this on a troybilt once Good idea on-heating up the rubber with a heating gun

What you are doing there is very hard to do, especially with new rubber, I let the rubber sit in the hot sun for about 1 hr before I try that, I have also done the bike tire, and self tapping screws trick too.

I haven’t changed many tyres but I used a bucket of boiling water to soften the rubber, you need asbestos hands !
