One of my studs got stripped for my valve cover. Is ok to loosen the cap bolt just one? Will affect the engine or not? Or do I have too loosen everything in sequence then re-tighten everything.
@johnwatson-sw2ql4 ай бұрын
Is that last 10 mm bolt that you put in important or can it live without it? The reason I asked is when I took mine apart and didn't have a 10 mm in there, it was just empty

I’ve seen a lot without them. It’s fine without it

If I loosen these could I rotate a cam shaft sprocket that is locked up back to TDC? Much appreciated
@ryleepowers Жыл бұрын
i didn’t have a torque wrench on hand so i tightened these all good and tight with a 1/4” drive ratchet lol. I’m a bit concerned is there any way it could do damage to the cam if they are too tight? They are definitely tight enough not on the loose side.
@hondaresource Жыл бұрын
They'll probably be fine

@@hondaresource thanks for the reply. I started it up about an hour ago after allowing the rtv to dry for a day on my valve cover and it seems to run great.

Thanks for the video, after tightening one of the bolts, I can see air bubbles coming out at the bolt head, what would be the reason?
@hondaresource2 жыл бұрын
It's just oil from the bolt hole coming out

Thanks a lot for the quick reply. So this's okay? I keep hearing from others that this can be due to a bad head gasket.

Hey man, so I stripped the nut on one of those studs for the valve cover. So I took that bolt out and I replaced it with a new one, torqued it down to 15ft and the first click snapped the bolt. Do you think this happened because I replaced just one bolt and didn’t do the sequence? Or maybe it was my torque wrench??
@hondaresource2 жыл бұрын
15 ft/lb shouldn't break one of those bolts. May want to check your torque wrench
@idrcookiez6202 жыл бұрын
@@hondaresource so without doing the pattern and just replacing one of those bolts it shouldn’t have broken?
