I’ve never really been a Honda fan (mainly due to all the ricers out there) but seeing how well built they can be and how ingenious the alignment in regards to timing makes me want to try building one of these.

Ok I’ll double check my wires but I’m sure they are good. But there is a fan switch wire in the front that I just got rid of but I don’t think that would stop the engine from firing. The timing I thought I did alright because I even watched your video to double check everything I did smh. But I’ll look everything over and get back w you. Thanks again I really appreciate ya

How bad would it be not to replace the timing guides? My rsx s is almost about 200k. I was just thinking about replacing the chain n tensioner n I also purchased drag cartel lower guides. Think I could get away from that?
@themechanic6117
@themechanic6117 5 жыл бұрын
At 200k id replace all guides. Its not only abiut how worn out they are but the plastic guides become brittle n break into pieces... That causes major problems. If you're changing the chain, do the job right.👍

After setting everything and making sure the colored links were in the correct locations(two dots on cam gears and mark down at crank gear), I turned the engine a couple of rotations and back to lining the timing marks up but the colored links seem to be out of position. The tensioner is in place and everything but the colored links don't line up in the locations I set them up in any longer when I am at top dead center cylinder 1. What gives?
@themechanic6117
@themechanic6117 2 ай бұрын
That's normal. As long as the timing marks line up then it's good. Every time the chain rotates a full revolution the colored links will be off by another tooth. Eventually they'll all align again but it would take many revolutions. As long as the marks (not the colored links ) line up it will be fine.
@cobbysparks9891
@cobbysparks9891 2 ай бұрын
I just found out that after timing the system to the colored link, links don’t mean anything anymore. As long as the timing marks on the cams sprockets are correct. Apparently after so many turns they will line up again. But that would be 20,30,40 or 70 who knows? I got it right.

So everything is good until I line up my crank mark to my mark on the chain....the top two are aligned, my crank is TDC, but the gold mark on the chain does not line up with the dot on the crank brocket....any ideas?
@Ruben901
@Ruben901 3 жыл бұрын
So I just also want to add that I installed the chain with the tensioner, everything at TDC, top two marks aligned and top two chain marks over the dots, Crank pulley at TDC but chain mark not on the dot (maybe 2 tooths off) I placed the tensioner and circled the crank 1 time and both lines align with each and the crank is at TDC. So does this mean it didn't matter if the chain marks didn't match up? The only thing that matters is alignment of lines and crank at TDC?
@themechanic6117

Align all of the timing marks first and then install the tensioner . Once the cams are lined up on top turn the crank which ever way you have to to get it go line up with the timing marks.

Is it possible to buy a chain that has the colored links? If not you'll just have to count the links. It's normal for everything to move a little once you install the tensioner. As long as the chain stays on the correct teeth it'll be fine.

I always pull out plugs when I doing a timing job . It makes adjustments much easier. Try it without the plugs and see if things line up . why are yah saying 40 degrees vtec? its VTC, not VTEC. vtec is the duration system, that thing is the VTC actuator.

I don't know dude ...I don't see any resemblance ....I think she may be cheating on you... As a matter of fact my friend lives in her neighborhood and he sees this one guy leaving her house in a black BMW an awful lot at weird hours..😺😺😺

Man is this contraption a clock or a motor. 8 rinki-dink marks required to time this wind-up ⏰️ clock. I got money, not time. I'll use repair shop to get mine done. All that time and 💰 money for 250-300 hp...gtfoh...
