Honda Monkey 125 Valve Adjustment & Oil Change 2024

Hello and welcome to this episode, today I void my Honda warranty by working on my own vehicle, however you can also do this yourself and save £££ but there will be some risk of your warranty being void to procedure with caution.
Here I adjust my vales (tappets) on my brand new 2024 Honda Monkey 125 that's covered 570 miles

Another great video, i was surprised to see that the Oil Filter change is the same as my Burgman 400 and the Oil cartridge is of the similar same size..

You made that look easier than a Meccano set! Have you had a ride on the BSA 650 Goldstar yet? I was wondering what you would think of it as a step up from the RE 350 Classic.

No I haven’t actually, I am keen to try one. I’ll have a look and see if any local dealers have one for me to try

@@nicksepisode There maybe the problem. Dealer network. There's one near me so I'll get over to look at it. I don't like the chrome tank tho so it would have to be the stealth one.

Would you do this with less than 600 miles on it from new

First service is at 600 from new, mines at 570. I’d only do this if it was at least 500 miles in. You don’t need the valve check I just did because I can. Valves gaps are inspected every 4k

Didn’t look like it was running mega lean after you fitted the new exhaust. Just a bit I’d say but the EFi looks to have compensated quite well? Am I right Nick, asking as in a bit of a pit bike bodger😳

Yeah it does seem that way as when it was running for a while the note changed. It doesn’t look too lean but more lean than I like so I’m looking at getting some sort of fuel commander.

My 2023 monkey show a sticker on the tail ...intake 008mm and exhaust 0.20mm after adjusting it myself its ticking like crazy now ,

Even with those specs it shouldn’t be ticking, remove the air filter to make it easier to check inlet and make sure it’s adjusted snug.

@@nicksepisode I have a chimera intake the worst now is that I just broke the 14mm bolt cover for the top dead center mark 😔
