Thank you for the report. I'm about to go on vacation and travel about 5,000 km along with my wife and cross the Andes mountain range to Chile. These reports motivate us to know that our NC750sX are very reliable. Greetings from Argentina. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

@@AfricaTwin-Stuff Hello, remember that I told you that I was going to cross the Andes from Argentina to Chile? Here I leave a few seconds of unedited video of the highest part of the crossing (3750 meters above sea level) in case you want to look at it, incredible landscapes. It took me 11 hours in total to make the full crossing and the NC went great without any problem of punting. When you have the final video of the trip, I will notify you. @@Rrrrrrricky56789 Hi. No problem, it is a border crossing (Agua Negra pass) that is enabled from December to March only. Asphalt route in excellent condition and stone path about 130 km approx. You go up to almost 5000 meters high and the NC being injection does not suffer it at all. we went very slowly and enjoying the landscapes. Greetings and good routes.

Thanks for all your NC750X videos, I really appreciate it. I'm a 55 year old Honda fan from Germany. This year I completely restored my old Honda XL500S after 30 years. I have so much fun again that I decided to buy a new motorbike. I had the NC750X already in the closer choice. Your videos have confirmed that the NC750X is the right bike. Thanks a lot!!

With 20,000kms just around the corner...and up the motorway, this is by far the easiest and friendliest bike I have owned. It's capabilities easily outstrip mine. As a daily commuter it's narrow width makes lane filtering a breeze and on weekends it's a capable tourer. I am useless on gravel but getting more comfortable on this bike. As you say the best thing is having my wife along with me on her equally brilliant CB500X....happy days👍

Good video, I totally agree! I drove now in the first year with my 750x 15500 kilometers. I do not regret to have decided for this model. At the moment it stands in the garage and waits for better weather, because the weather doesn't invite me to drive. Merry Christmas and a happy new year from cold Germany! 🎄 🎉👋🏻

I have put a down payment on a 2017 NC750X in mid October 2018 for a delivery in April 2019. At 62, this will be my first bike. I also took the extensive and mandatory training here in the province of Quebec, Canada. I choose that bike because of it's reputation and the amount of help available through channels like yours. It seems to be a dependable and well mannered bike. Something I will be able to handle. I am sure, it will be "thrilling" enough for me. Why did you decided on smaller tread on the back wheel? This is not something that I would dare to do. One last thing, I had to do a double take on the "Don't not". 😎

Jean-Claude Noël - very few dual purpose tyres come in the 160 size. I wore out the Shinko 170 I tried first and replaced it with a Tourance 150. The 170 was too wide when fitted, making the tyre more rounded. This gave less contact patch, and wide chicken strips. I have found I can use all of the 150 without rolling off the sides in tight corners. So I’ll stick with a 150 for a dual purpose tyre in future. I got 10,000 km from the rear Shinko which is fine. But I’ve used many Tourance tyres on a previous bike and liked its performance and wear. In Oz they are similar price and I expect to get a few more kms from it.

Enjoyed your review. Made me think about getting one of these. I've a similar background to you and been on 2-wheels most of my life. Currently got a couple of old bikes that I'm too fond of to get rid of and a 2014 (registered) Varadero X1000VAB that I tour around Europe on. It's done me well (coming up to 66K Km) but it's getting heavier as I get older (~280 Kg wet). Been looking at a Tenere 700 which seems a nice bike but probably not one I would want to do long distance riding on so an NC750X is something to think about. I'm around 185 cm and I do like a bike to be be physically big so I wonder? I like to do my own maintenance so I really like the fact that the valves aren't shimmed.

Easy maintenance apart from when it comes to checking or replacing the air cleaner which is one of the most difficult one's to get at on any bike let alone a adventure bike. All those clips and panels you have to remove to get at it if you took it to a shop would cost a pretty penny to get done. I have no doubt those panels and or clips will break over time for such an operation of checking the air cleaner. 17" isn't an adopted standard for any adventure bike-that's because they are more oriented towards road. Even my Ducati Scrambler has an 18" on the front. It's about being able to roll over obstructions especially negotiating rocks in river's that are often difficult to see in the river. Otherwise it looks to be a well thought out bike by all report I've heard. Good economy-good torque and low centre of gravity with engine angle.

Great video but I have doubts about your tyre combination. I have been looking at options for tyres to replace the crap factory Bumlops on my NC. You are currently running a Tourance on the back and a Shinko on the front. From what I have read the Shinko is a bias ply and the Tourance is a radial so I'm guessing that combination might be a little dodgy, even if it feels OK. I could be wrong but it might be something to look at. BTW, how many chains and sprockets have you been through in your 40000K's? Keep up the good work. Cheers from Raymond Terrace
@AfricaTwin-Stuff
@AfricaTwin-Stuff 6 жыл бұрын
Des Gusting - tyres are a very personal choice. After the craplops I had a set of Tourance Next. Didn’t like them at all and they didn’t last long. Then I had a set of Michelin PR4’s. These were excellent both in feel and longevity. But I wanted some dual purpose tyres. So put on the Shinko’s. These feel great and wear well for the price. After the rear Shinko wore out, I put the Tourance on the rear. I like this combination and will stick with them. I replaced the poor quality original chain at 22,000km (frozen links even when oiled every ride). Still have the original sprockets. The sprockets and RK chain are still good at 40,000km.

@@AfricaTwin-Stuff I'll be going for PR4's or the new Road 5 Michelins. I don't go out of my way to ride on dirt so its road tyres for me. Thanks for the info on chains. Incidently, the early first model NC700's (I had an NC700S) were known to break chains (all that massive HP you know) and I think there was a recall on them in the states and Canada. The later ones used (cheap OEM) DID. Cheers

Don Storm. I haven't got either an NC or a Versys- yet!, As everyone knows, choosing a bike is a very personal thing, for me, the Versys is too tall, with a higher seat then the NC. I personally think the NC is more road orientated than the Versys,(then again how many Versys riders take their bikes off road?). I like the idea of the NC's low centre of gravity and practicality, and for me, coming from an in line 4 Suzuki GSXS750, the change is going to be huge. But, the uncomfortable long distance rides on the GSX are getting intolerable, so, I'm hoping that all that will change when I finally get an NC. For you, the choice is between a Versys and a NC, for me, it's between a Crossrunner and a NC. albeit the Crossrunner is much more expensive, but we shall see.

don storm Just under 85 miles per gallon for my DCT over 6000 miles now. Some riding at highway speeds where it drops to around 75mpg, but most riding 40-60 mph. I always ride in drive and accelerate gently except for the occasional spirited ride in sport mode. But I really love it for rolling along country roads in a relaxed way with the DCT doing the work.

Gerardo Musano - the 500X is an excellent bike and if I had bought one instead of the NC I would be happy. It puts out almost as much horse power as the NC but revs higher. The NC is way easier for maintenance, has the glove box, has much more torque and revs lower. Buy in future?
