Good video 👍 My mates thought I had lost the plot when I traded in my 2010 Speed Triple for a new one back in late 2016. I had a test ride and fell for the dct straight away, I just love how smooth it is. And now after 4 years of ownership I still enjoy just going for a ride just for the sake of it. I ride mine in manual 95% of the time, then I can't blame it for being in the wrong gear. But I also like D mode if I fancy a really chilled out bimble, also good in slow moving traffic and urban areas, stop start in towns and cities becomes a breeze. And another thing if you ever need to do an emergency stop just bang the brakes on and let the bike sort the downshifting out, and you are ready to go no need to try and get the bike back into 1st because it is already in 1st ready to go. DCT witchcraft I call it. Oh and I like the Country laner, it describes it well, its a long way from an adventure bike and a lot more than a commuter.

I am looking at some serious tours when all the covid stuffs done with so recently bought an African twin but its manual. The NC has gone and I am questioning myself that should of kept it. I'm loving the AT though to be honest. Thanks for subscribing I've subbed to you will give them a watch at the weekend. Stay safe 👍

@@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE Well you should have bought an Africa Twin DCT! 😃 - The AT is absolutely lovely and the motor is really nice, but to enjoy it you can get way over the speed limit. That's the joy of the NC - when you are really pushing on you can use everything the motor has and stay nearer the speed limits. And when you want to relax the machine saves you bundles of cash on fuel because you aren't carrying a bigger motor than you need.

Hi, I’ve got the 22 model, they’ve changed the seat, shed about 6kilos and upped the power. I changed the fork springs, put on a rad guard, changed the screen, put on a protective screen on the dash, bar risers, heated grips. Rear rack. Luggage wise I’m using the kriega 40 litre pack, Oxford throw over panniers. It’s brill at carrying tents and all the rest, done the lakes and the Dales a few times and I can’t wait for better weather. I had the DCT on my VFR 1200 which was great, but a bind going down hill fiddling with paddles on steep slopes and trying to use the indicators at the same time. I couldn’t get an new NC 750 with DCT this past summer, they had all gone, but I’ve got to say the manual is fine, lighter and cheaper ! Enjoying the channel, keep that Ducati shiny side up.

It's not just the DCT. It just goes so well with that weird engine and it's low down torque. It's not for burn ups - it's for getting places quickly through varied roads without fatigue. It gets out the way and just does what you ask without needing special attention. You forget it's there, there's just you and the road.

Hey Bud,great first impression review & I have to agree with your comments. I traded in a MT09 Tracer & don’t regret what I did one bit. I love the DCT on my 2017 NC750X as it’s a joy to Bimble around on. I’ve recently installed a Booster Plug & it’s totally transformed the ride, smooth running now without the jerkiness… deffo recommend putting one on.

I've tested one last week, I knew it was good but it still blew my mind. I don't think there's a better bike in the world if you have nothing to prove and all you want is a bike to go places. Exhaust sounds brilliant in real life, I don't like D mode, it shakes it's rivets out and fuel tank is small but offers much bigger range then others. The storage in the tank makes all the diference and that DCT is the best automatic I've ever come across, and I've seen a few (cars, trucks, tractors, boats) I bought one, it's comming next week. Try DCT first. Good video fellow, keep on riding.

I have got to the point in my riding that I want DCT. It's a straight choice for me between an NC and the X-ADV. Have you ridden the latter? There's a bloke in Thailand has done 235,000 km on an NC DCT with no problems. Country-laner, adventure bike: marketing BS. They're all just bikes to me. I used to tour Europe on an XT500 - Greece, Portugal. I'd definitely do it on your bike.

@@stevebolton8471 You get the same storage space on the X-Adv. The difference in price between the X-Adv and NC DCT in Thailand works out at 1,400 GB pounds which is around 1,850 to 1,890 USD. If you fit the accessory bike pegs, you create the same riding position on the X-Adv but you have options to have your feet in several more forward positions. Plus the X-Adv has superior suspension, a better screen, a nicer dash, a main stand and a more attractive swingarm.

I usually drop down a gear in bends to give more control through them. I can't see the dct achieving that sort of controlled in/out feeling, unless in manual mode. At what about an emergency stop? Without pulling the clutch lever in, the bike must be in drive for longer.

As an experienced rider thats incorrect. There is no difference with dct they will be thinking that you drop gears in then power out. DCT is great for a beginner. Experienced riders change gears like second nature and they know what to focus on in traffic and what to ignore, but for beginners it's just a lot of stuff to process at once. If you can remove one of those things, you should go for it. Easier, safer and more enjoyable.
