Modern mudguards! 🤷♂️

I'm thinking about getting this or the standard length one. Good to see it's an easy installation

I was in 2 minds having always used the standard extenda. But the mudguard is very short on this bike so took a chance. So far so good...

@@CodgerBiker I bought a new NT1100 just over a week ago and loving it.

You’ve probably done more miles than me. Still healing and weather not been great. But so far so good 👍👍

This was the first thing I did when I bought my NT1100, I had heard of riders having a problem with the TFT display failing in wet weather, looking at it you can see the front mudguard finish's so short that water can be thrown right up and onto the back of the TFT screen, and it doesn't help because the connector is very exposed, the loom insulation seems to stop short of the end? I bound it with some extra insulation tape. I too am a big fan of Pyramid accessories, however I had the same issues as you when fitting the extender! I also fitted a Pyramid hugger which was a doddle!!! 😀

I don't understand the fashion for short mudguards. Especially, as you say, with all the electronics also in use. This one seems nice and strong. Hopefully will do the job. 🤞 👍👍

@@CodgerBiker I don't get it either, it is a touring bike that will be ridden in all sorts of weather, TBH I always fit a fender extenda and a radiator guard to every bike I have. Just a heads up if you haven't yet fitted a radiator guard, Evotech makes one that is a perfect and very easy fit 👍

Are you psychic? I fitted very same only yesterday. Vid will follow after I test it for a while. I grew up near Evotech so always try to use their stuff. Quality, though their instructions are sometimes a challenge. Not so in this case though. 👍

@@CodgerBiker Clearly not psychic, I'd have won the lottery by now!! 😮💨I look forward to the video, although I've already fitted mine!!

I fitted one to my Triumph 1200 Tiger RE and it works well. Only downside is that I now have a slight oscillation through the handlebars at high speed. Ok it does have to be very high speed but quite disconcerting when it does happen! Watch out for it.

Cheers for that. If it happens I shall report back. 👍👍

Beast of a fender extender, but obviously needed. That mudguard looks stupidly small for the job it’s supposed to do 🙄

It seems to be designed to throw muck into the engine. I find modern mudguards a bit weird. 👍

I have the Glacier White NT the one in White it's £130 it would look odd sitting on the already black short mudguard. Black is £66 I'll stick to Black. Would the Torque settings be in the instructions??? Thought why did Honda make it originally short???
@CodgerBikerАй бұрын
Modern trend to have short mud guards I guess. Motogp bikes setting the trend to maximise airflow, not really an issue on a sport tourer. There are no torque specs given. I've noticed fewer of these from 3rd party over the years, possibly to avoid being sued. I can only give you what it says in my eBay pdf manual. 45nm, apply loctite. It is the front brake after all. But you should check elsewhere also. I've had no problem. Checked it a few times after 500 miles, all fine... so far.

Thanks for the reply. 50/50 with Black or the Glacier White with SportBike Shop.

Mine’s all blacked out so wasn’t an issue. 👍

Hello. I have that same Pyramid fender but I don't know the tightening torque of the screws. Can you tell me which one it is? Thank you
@CodgerBiker4 ай бұрын
I presume you mean the 2 caliper bolts, not the Extenda nuts n bolts. I only have a pdf of the NT1100 Repair manual. In it it states the caliper bolts should be replaced if used. Then torqued to 45nm and use Loctite. But I cannot guarantee the accuracy.
@Francrev4894 ай бұрын
@@CodgerBiker Yes, those are the brake bolts I'm referring to. The thing is that I apply that tightening torque and twist the metal support arms, it seems to me that it is a very high torque. Thank you for answering me.

Could you tell me what torque setting you used please? Thanks 👍
