Honda or Acura Blend door actuator repair EASY DIY

Well done. Yes the problem usually is poor contact between those pins and the rotating pad on the main gear. By bending the pins up slightly like you did improves the connection. The computer uses those pins to figure out how far the blend door is open. So usually when you start your car the heat is fine but then when you drive and hit bumps those pins lose contact and the computer goes to a default failsafe position - no heat.

I performed this repair using your video as a guide. I gently bent the pins to improve the contact and I also used dielectric grease. I now have heat on the passenger side of my Accord. Thank you!

RB ...not just The Mechanic, you my friend are a Rock Star! Someone in another video commented about this video being available. A little looking around and found this along with the video on how to install the blend door actuator. I would have never thought to take it apart, clean, and bend the contacts, but as of right now, my car is fixed. I have heat and a/c. Saved me money and a lot of time. Blessings to you!

RB i need your help…my car has heat and cold air however, i am unable to change vents. For example my front windscreen defroster wont turn on. It is stuck at the front vents only and i cannot change the vents. Is this a blend door motor issue or something else?

My drivers side two vents are blowing warm air but both passenger side vents are blowing cold. Could it be low Freon?

That is the first thing to check or reservice ac systym also check to see if u got dual climate control then bled door could be bad on one side

I have a Acura tsx 2006 I noticed when I use the cold air the driver sides vents which are two vents are not blowing as cold as the passenger sides vents do you know what could it be ? It blows semi cold air on driver side but it feels hot on some days and the passenger side it’s always cool

Check ur refrigeration pressure it maybe low do ac service with ac machine

Middle meaning the back of car? Possibility could be blend door actuator stuck on heat side or low Freon. Good this is ac system is running!

@@RBTheMechanic what year accord? I have an 02 Acura TL. I think I just broke the plastic piece that connects to the actuator. That moves. Now my airs only coming out the floor vents lol. Looks like I'll be heading to the junkyard tomorrow

@@RBTheMechanic I just got mine apart. Two gears have a broke tooth. Probably when I pushed it by hand to get off defrost. Going to have to find one. None on eBay that I saw when I briefly looked earlier. I wish I could send you a pic of the main gear that moves the lever. I can't see how to get it off to get to the brushes. It's different than the one in your video

You have a recall on ac!! For 10 year warranty extended. So this issue seems like low on Freon which is leaking and caulking on half the systym to cool I would check with ur dealer

Does your car have separate temp controls for driver and passenger side? If so, they have a blend door actuator on each side. Try watching the actuator as you change the temp it should move. Repair or replace if it doesnt move
