From 2020 forward, Honda changed the 300 and the 500: slipper assist clutch, upgraded shocks, LED lighting, and a gear indicator.

Great video! I've had my 2019 300 since Feb 2022. I'm not a beginner.. Having a family and not a lot of free time, I just wanted something I could hop on and cruise around the neighborhood. I've done short 5-10 mile stints on highways from one town to the next at a comfortable 75mph (I could have gone faster). I'm just at the point in my life where speed isn't a priority. I don't need to be going 150mph on the highway, but that's just me. The bike is therapy for me... I get a ride in a few times a week to forget about work, bills and everything else and just get out there and have fun. I did convert it into a bobber, took off the rear fender, installed different brake lights and an LED strip light across the back bar of the seat. I also have a DanMoto Highwayman Slip-on Exhaust. It's a fun bike for beginners and also people who just want to cruise and have fun.

I took my course in 2018 failed but had my permit and would ride my Grom daily. Now I have to take the course again in May hopefully I pass. I just bought a Honda rebel 500 but still have my Grom. Thanks for the refresher.

I'm old and short and have trouble swinging a leg over and getting on just about all modern motorcycles so have been eyeballing the Honda Rebels 300 and 500. I went to a dealer today to check them both out. I was super impressed at how easy it was to swing my stiff sore old leg over the low rear of both bikes and rest my ass into the rock hard seats. Not sure about frame design likeness of the 2 Rebels but my legs seemed a bit more comfy on the 500 as was the handlebar reach. The handlebars were not to my liking but that can be fixed. My knees seemed quite high up on the 300 even with my short legs and i found myself having to lean a bit forward to grab the handlebars. Again the handlebar thing could be fixed but not so much the seat/footpeg relationship thing. But even with those issues the 500 was definitely doable but I am having trouble with them both being butt ugly motorcycles. The 300 was a little bit prettier with the red metallic paint but there is just so much flat black ugly crap and plastic on these bikes it would be a hard pill to swallow to have to ride one of these bikes. There was also a Kawaski Vulcan 650 sitting there I tried on for size as the seat height is actually a bit lower than the Rebels. But The Kawi has forward mounted footpegs and riding like that totally sucks... ( I use to have a Triumph with forward mounted pegs...never again) so IDK what I will do.

The Rebel 1100 is a beast, the torque and acceleration speed is amazing. Though the bike is limited here in Europe and it cuts the throttle at 107 mp/h or 172 Km/h I love it because top speeds for me just don't mean anything. As long it can easily do highway speeds I'm fine with it and the with Reb 1100 you can easily cruise at 80 mp/h or 130 KM/h.

Good video.. Very low mileage used bikes, can be priced a little higher than MSRP, because the buyer avoids the shipping and handling and setup fees. These fees add another $1000 to the new purchase. Its not coming with the dealer backing though. Smart shopping is key. My wife wants the Rebel 300 for local tripping. She has a Harley 1200 for her highway trips.

I'm going to be getting my first bike, probably within the next year, and with the research I've done the Rebel 300 is one I'm considering. I don't want to ride very fast, I just want a bike that I can take on the Interstate and be able to keep up with traffic and have enough power to get out of the way of other vehicles. Does the 300 have enough power to do that?
@adventureswithericc2 жыл бұрын
it's honestly a pretty slow bike great for beginners however I do think you can keep up with cars but it lacks the get-up-and-go speed. if I could I would have gone with the 500 for my first bike. good luck brotha
@Sqippy2 жыл бұрын
You're looking at hitting 60 mph only after the 600 mile break in period. Buy it used if you're not planning on putting in the break in miles. Without stretching that engine you're maybe maxing out around 42 mph good luck
@ShadowOwn12 жыл бұрын
Not sure what this guy is saying. I've got a 2018 Rebel 300 and I've been able to get up to 85mph on it with about 2k miles on it. It can easily go 70+ and keep up with cars on the interstate.

@@Sqippy Did you not say you would only hit 60 and then 42? I’m not gonna argue with you but you’ve obviously never ridden a 300.
