Honda Shadow 750 Sissy Bar // This didn't go as I had planned. Installation was more difficult than I thought putting this sissy bar on my Honda Shadow Spirit 750! I will do a little commentary before and after the installation, so be sure to watch through the end of the video to see this sissy bar installed! Do you have a sissy bar on your motorcycle? We want to hear from you in the comments below!

Thank you to those who watch! This video is a mix of the riding and doing the install inbetween. Hope you all enjoy the ride and the tutorial. Leave me a comment below if you use a sissy bar for your bike for reasons like me.

That sissy bar looks pretty cool !!! My shadow had a factory one on it when I bought it. It was real useful when I made the road trip to Nebraska last year. I picked up a motorcycle backpack for my stuff and it have a pocket to slide over the sissy bar and straps to secure it.

Thank you! They definitely do come in handy! Saves a lot of headache trying to figure out how to carry extra stuff and yet not break your back doing it! If I didn’t have such a giant laptop, it would be easier as well! 😂

Bar looks great. I was riding with a backpack to my last job and it sucked most of the time. It was about 90 miles round trip. I think I am going to look into some bags and possibly a bar for mine. These videos help with accesory decisions.

I enjoyed this video... keep up the good work. I have a 2007 Honda VTX 1300 spoked retro. Once I had my back fender off and when I put it all back I actually cross threaded TWO of the bolts. I was frustrated so I just kept screwing them on till they were all the way in. It was difficult. They are in really tight so I just left it like that. A real mechanic would never have done that but I did cause I never said I was a real mechanic. I finally did take one of them out and just put a slightly smaller diameter but longer bolt in and a nut and washer on it inside the fender.

Glad you enjoyed! Thanks! Sounds very similar to what I did. I don’t believe I cross threaded, but there is that chance. I just know those suckers are tight and I have no plans of taking them out. 😆 I, like you, also am not a mechanic. Just an amateur with a toolbox. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Hey Dustin! Good video. My 06 Shadow has a back rest that I have had off and on several times over the last couple of years. As I watched you remove the fender bolts I thought "Oh no he is taking all the fender bolts out!" I learned this the hard way LOL! I figured out the best way for me was to install the front bolts first, lean the back rest forward, then install the rear bolts. that way the fender is never fully detached from the frame. so, not left/right, but front/rear. and yes, that fender is a pain in the backside to get back on for some reason. I don't have bags to deal with on my 06, which I am sure is an extra complication. BTW, that sissy bar looks pretty good! I agree, maybe taller bars would balance the bike's look out.

Yeah…. I wasn’t really thinking. I didn’t plan through it. The way you described it would absolutely be the best way for it. Live and learn the hard way. 😆 I really didn’t think about those bolts holding the fender on. Yeah, time will tell if I decide to balance it out or just leave it. I always debate my long term plans with this bike, so the more money input into it, the more I will need to have serious thoughts on it. I appreciate your comment and how you described it!

If you put dowel rod pieces in the holes to hold this in place.. then use the bolt to push them out works really great.. also holds the fender in place. Love your videos!

I am not sure of the brand of the bags. They were on the motorcycle when I bought it. There are two bolts on the inside that go through the bag, through the sissy bar bracket, through the sock frame cover, and into the fender. Hope that at least helps!

I have a 2013 Shadow Phantom that I would like to add bags, sissy bar and l, small windscreen to. Thus far every screen I've found is too big but, I really like the way your bags and bar looks.
@TWOWHEELD
@TWOWHEELD 11 ай бұрын
It can be a bit difficult finding a decent windscreen. I agree. I have looked for various ones and haven’t found one I like. I’m not sure the brand of the bags and I believe the bars are stock 2007 Honda Shadow Spirit bars. Thanks for watching!

Guess you could have just put the bolts in the other side to hold the fender up while installing the right side. My bike came with the sissy bar all put together just not installed. Had the take it all apart to install. Had chrome strips washers spacers and bags. Was a real pain. Just not enough hands. 😅
@TWOWHEELD
@TWOWHEELD Жыл бұрын
Yeah. It was a thought. Either way, that dang fender had to be pulled on a little to get the bolt in. Seems like it is holding properly. That sounds like the same issue I had! Not enough hands! Even with four of them! 😂 Seems like they could make these easier! The one for my Road King literally took me longer to unbox than it did installing. 😂

Perhaps some bungee nuts and/or decorative license bolts to fill in the holes on the pad mounting strap and/or help stabilize your pack?
@TWOWHEELD
@TWOWHEELD Жыл бұрын
Yeah. Those are good suggestions. I have an idea in my head to make a plate for it so I can put one of my stickers on it. 😆 The backpack I have has a few sissy bar straps built in, so that works out nice. And I can hang the bag by the top strap as well. I will eventually do a video showing the bag and how it attaches.

I replaced my rear indicators yesterday and my saddle bag is a throw over the seat bags comnected by a string,i had to lose my fender then turn it upside down to do it, but it was a challenge because i didn't have help and i got mines with the sissy bar had to take it apart too.

Justin! What's up man 😎 Very cool I like that style of sissy bar but my question is.. Can you measure how tall it is on the bike ? I've always wanted this style of one but they are so tall looking 😂 I always held off from the purchase.. Sorry it's been so long ..I bought a house and I live in Arizona now I moved from Vegas..
@TWOWHEELD
@TWOWHEELD Жыл бұрын
Hey man. Good to hear from you! It is definitely tall looking on the bike. That’s where I have mixed feelings on it. The product dimensions say it is 730mm tall from the bottom of the bolt on brackets to the top of the bar. Hope that helps! Nice to hear from you and hear you purchased your home in Arizona! Moving is always so much fun! 😆
