Some do it for less vibrations. Some do it for higher top speeds. Either way you've helped me make a much more confident choice in going down more teeth than I was going to. It's always God to know if it's been done before and if it works. Again thank you so much man. Also the bike looks dope, you got good taste.

Thanks for the video man! I’ll be changing mine over as soon as the mail man get me my stuff! .. side note, drums work just as well as discs. Benefit of disc is easy changes and they don’t heat up and loose breaking power as quickly as a drum. Knowledge trade!

@@jeffboyardee777 I want to buy a honda vlx or vt600. Maybe next year. I want to build a bobber too :D I like your exhaust and carburetor filter, is very nice ;) How this engine works? You have any problems with him?
@jeffboyardee7773 жыл бұрын
@@DjSharpey666 Good choice! The engine is pretty dang bulletproof. I haven't had any issues with the bike so far. With the right carb jetting and regular maintenance (oil change) the engine will last forever!

Sounds Good. So what was the carb recommendation from Therealaog? Im trying to get mine right.
@jeffboyardee7773 жыл бұрын
The carb recommendation came from Eric @casacustoms on IG. I’m running a single carb and he recommended 148 main jet, 48 idle jet, 2 shims on air fuel needle, 2.5 turns out on the mixture screw. I did that and the bike runs amazing.
@fliptoofreedom3 жыл бұрын
@@jeffboyardee777 Thank you. One more ? Where do you buy needle shims? Thats the only thing im missing.
@jeffboyardee7773 жыл бұрын
@@fliptoofreedom Amazon. Just search needle shims for carb and you should get a few options. You could also go to your local hardware store and look for really small flat washers.

What size jets and what air to fuel ratio ( knob rotations ) are you set at ?

Are you running stock links for your chain? Or 115?
@user-sp4wi7mv2k Жыл бұрын
So what’s it’s top speed with that? Mine is stock and idk, feels like I might be able to just barely hit 70 if I really tried

Some people say when you go down to the 38 tooth rear sprocket it’s good to add stiffer clutch springs? What’s your opinion??
@jeffboyardee7773 жыл бұрын
I didn't come across that recommendation when I was looking for a smaller sprocket, but I can say from riding it around for a while now that I don't have any issues with the clutch. The clutch grab does feel ever so slightly different but not significant enough for me to ever consider changing anything. Thanks for the comment!
@chatarra80792 ай бұрын
I think that downing from 44 to 38 teeth is too way much. I just put a 42 teeth sprocket and the change was already reeeeaaally big and good; I got like 20kmh more at every gear (mine is 5 gears) without losing any acceleration. But with 38 teeth you lose too much acceleration and you'll need to change the clutch springs for stronger ones.

Whats the setup your running for your carb ? I been having some trouble getting a perfect tune
@jeffboyardee777 Жыл бұрын
With that current setup, velocity stack and pipe…. I had 148 main jet, 48 idle jet, 2 shims on the needle, and air fuel mixture screw 2.5 turns out. Give that a shot if you are running a similar setup.

Why was the top speed after you changed it ?
@jeffboyardee777 Жыл бұрын
Not entirely sure. I didn’t have a speedometer on the bike but after the sprocket change I was able to cruise freeway speeds at a real good pace without straining the engine
