Honda Super Cub C125 Oil Spinner and Filter Screen Service Part 1 - Removing Engine Cover

wow i think you have just become my favourite person, my cub started smoking severely, it seems i have too much oil in it BUT the wondow is black so i cant see, now i can get this problem sorted thanks to you, time to move the sofa and roll back the carpet :)

Honda designed it that way, because the centrifugal oil spinner is the best way to filter oil. With the screen it gets strained and then it gets filtered. The new Cubs have the same system plus a oil filter which can be changed at more frequent intervals. But the internal centrifugal system works amazing. Wet clutch systems must use motorcycle oil designed for a wet clutch, car oil will cause you to slip, not good. I'm also curious, when he applied torque to the drain plug, it looked more like 18 inch pounds as opposed to 18 foot pounds, just my observation.

Thanks, this series will help a lot when I do mine. I noticed your low battery key symbol was flashing on the dash. Mine did that too and I swapped the 2032 fob battery.

Hi there. Very good videos, thanks. I have a 2022 Supercub and they have added a cylinder oil filter to the engine so not sure if the spinner and mesh screen is still used. Trying to get a copy of the new service book.

Stu. How is your oil consumption on 22? Mine burns up 150 ml per 200 miles. I think it is a bit much. Ive got 4000 miles on mine.
