@GT Content, Hi for the FD2 Civic Type-R you forgot to mention that the chassis concept was taken from the Canadian only Acura CSX which went through 2 generation iterations from 2006 -2008 and 2009-2011. Honda of Japan stated that they loved the Acura CSX design so much that they used this as the platform for the FD2 Type-R that is still considered the most beautiful Civic ever produced~
@GTContent7 жыл бұрын
+Daxy Daxy I was looking for that information as I was aware the CSX was built in Canada (I pondered doing a CSX conversion on a 2006-2012 Honda Civic at one point. lol) and couldn't find it, hence why I left it out. Thanks for the info!

The EK series Type R wasn't just Japan only market but more of a Asia only market. Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and even Thailand has many EK CTR on the road and even my mum had one and I'm a Singaporean. Same goes to the FD2 CTR. The FD2 was also sold not only in Japan but mostly in Asian market side by side the FN2. This also saw salesof both models in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong but for the FN2, Asia market hated it more than the FD2 which in many Honda fans, FD2 is considered the best CTR of all beside the new one.

Forgot to mention Honda used to be just a corner grocery store until a hurricane devastated Japans industrial sector. Honda manufactured the legendary D type motorcycle. D stands for dream type, honda's way of helping japan rebuild its manf. industrial strength while helping the Japanese people travel after the prev mentioned hurricane. The D type paved the way for hondas motorcycle heritage. The Honda Type R brand came off the then CBRR liter race motorcycle which fathered the vtec engine management system. Cheers

Informative video. Torsion beam was used to save weight; it's not all that bad on cars with FWD. The best thing about 1990's Honda was even on a base civic, you could get A-arm suspension at all 4 corners; the best for cornering and for suspension lowering.
@GTContent7 жыл бұрын
+Michael Bullington True. Torsion beam is lighter since it's less complicated, but the real reason is also cost $$$. We get them when accounting gets involved. A performance car should have independent suspension at all corners. Not that it's necessary, but it should be the standard. Like you mentioned, the 90's were the best since it was standard.

I could only imagine what Honda could do with the J35 in a Honda Accord Type-R Coupe. At a minimum, 3.5 Liter SOHC V6 with a 8100 RPM redline, pushing 430 horsepower, with a compression ratio of 12.5:1. I would take it with a 7-speed manual (with the last gear as an overdrive for MPG) or a dual clutch automatic. Honda needs to produce something to show the world they're the power house in engineering. Lately, with what is going on with formula-1, they need to show the world again they can make what other manufacturers can't do: reliable, low maintenance high performance engines.

Having owned a DC2 ITR and now an FK8 CTR, the CTR is just better all around vehicle. The ITR was fun and very lightweight but it suffered lift-throttle oversteer too easily and was very slow until VTEC kicked in. It also droned at highway speeds as the gearing was super short and could have used a 6th gear for a true overdrive.

John Connor Ok do you realise that if Japan would of kept fighting. The United States would of Lost over 500000 soldiers? and We would of been thrown into a great depression if the emperor did not surrend? Did you know that Japan is the only country that legitamately attacked contental United States by destroying oil refiniries in Los Angeles? It would of costed more money and more casualties to the US to take over Japan than Germany in a unconventional Surrender? Dont believe me Look it up. Majority of our computer Systems are Japanese since the Persian Gulf War of 1991. Yeah they were enemies back in the day but there one of our top allies for Economy and our pop culture. From the Honda Dirt bikes in Moto Cross to the kick ass high powered Lawn Mower you use to Mow down 12 inch blades of grass. To the cartoons your kids watch. I would show some respect because shit in ww2 could of killed our countries status if the emperor was like hitler.
