Honda Xl600r Rebuild Part 6: Engine Component Reassembly

Basket case rebuild of a 1987 Honda XL600r motorcycle. This week we focus on reassembling each of major engine components. This includes the clutch side cover, the stator cover, the cylinder head, valve cover, decompression levers, the kickstart gasket, cam rockers, lapping the valves, and all the little parts and pieces that connect to these components. When all this is completed, I'll be ready to bolt the engine all back together.
The intent of these videos is to help beginners understand how these bikes work and how to fix them when they don't! Using parts from my years of collecting, I have almost everything to rebuild this bike except for a few small items and the major gaskets. By using used parts and simple tools, it is possible to do a lot of the work yourself and keep the cost of repairs to a minimum. The CDI was just the cheapest one I could find about $15 if i recall it came with a coil and cable as well. Been going strong for about five thousand miles now.

Are you going to include reinstalling the engine in a video? My dad and I are on this part and having a little trouble lol
