I have a 1989 Transalp and it’s my forever bike! The character of the narrow V twin combined with the comfortability and off road chops have made it a perfect 1 bike solution

I've owned the Transalp XL700 for about two years now, there are pro's and cons between the 650 and the 700, both lovely motorcycles. Nice to meet you :) Greetings from South Africa!

Looks so much like my '87 transalp (Canadian model), which took me through some amazing adventures '88 to '93. Basic and versatile, it was my first bike that could truly take me anywhere, comfortably. Bike looks great...enjoy!

Well seems like this Channel got potential :D I also have a 99 Transalp. Ridden it from South Germany to Norway and back last year and never let me down even with over 77.000 km on the clock

Nice video vlog, why the change from foxeye fazer, looked a really good clean example. Were there any mechanical issues with it.

I still own the Fazer, it runs smooth as silk! 😄 But due to some shoulder problems I needed a bike with a more upright seating position for the longer trips!

I have -90 Transalp. Nice, reasonable bike but I would like to have more power. Also the bike is little smallish to me, I'm 196 cm. Specially when riding with backseat ppassenger the bike feels very small. Only thing that has broke during 4 seasons is voltage regulator, they tend to brake at some point. Where I'm planning to make an upgrade is front brake, it's quite weak. Howevere, I'm not sure every component is ok, I'll strat by changing more solid hoses for it.

Just bought the exact same bike! I am not entirely sure on how to check the oil-level yet. maybe you can help me with this? I really like your video and the editing and the way you speak to the camera! keep up the good work! cheers
@neallontwowheels46122 жыл бұрын
Thankyou! :D Congrats with you Alp! Checking the oil level is super easy. On the right side of the engine, there's a black cap that you can screw off, there's a dipstick attached to it. Screw it out, clean it with a tissue, make sure the bike is standing vertically (so not on the side stand), dip in the stick (but do not screw it in) and see at what height there is oil in the stick. If you're still in doubt; there's an online version of the Haynes Manual, I'm sure that explains it in detail. Good luck!

you have to choke these bikes, i have one myself too. You can also manually choke them by blocking the air intake with your hand while starting.

Geweldige fiets but beware of the honda problems gewoon een startrelais en stroomregelaar op voorraad leggen en op grote trips meenemen, aantal jare. Heerlijk zijn grote oom de varadero gereden, maar sinds kort op ene bmw f 650 gs

hey congrats on the new bike! Quick question... does it have 6 gears (for highway use)?
@neallontwowheels46122 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks! Nope, it only has 5 gears. The Alp is not really meant for highway use, but it does the job perfectly fine 😄
