It'll get the Family Game win and that's it. If I were to point to a game's Metacritic score as the most "deceptive" in terms of "nominee position" at The Game Awards, this, not Rebirth, would be it. It won't get a score and music nom. It won't get a narrative nom. It won't get a performance nom. It's only an outside shot for Art Direction. It's only an outside shot for Direction. Anyone saying it can win is dumb, and I have it at sixth place (was waiting to see if Shadow Generations got a 90+), if we're being quite honest. 1. Metaphor: ReFantazio (Lock) 2. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (Lock) 3. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (Lock for nomination, can't win) 4. Unicorn Overlord (Probable) 5. Persona 3 Reload (Possible) 6. The fact that this is a legit good game, no lie, shows the appreciation PlayStation has for its old titles... and the neglect. These were some of the most fun games back in the day and the fact that they got so lovingly recreated is awesome, but it shows how things have changed with the corporate landscape in games nowadays, especially for Sony. It's not just the nostalgia or a good game mechanics, but the fact that things have changed so drastically. This is just a fun game in every category that more games need to be like. It's the perfect balance of reliving what you love but giving you something new.
