I don’t think it’ll kill COD (cod is doing a good job doing that by itself) but it’ll definitely be a nice alternative. Xdefiant doesn’t reinvent the wheel but has a lot of what the cod player base has been missing. It’ll also have prestige mode they confirmed it.

Fun fact, the Ultra ability is NOT time based but fully score based. Mark Rubin confirmed the Ultra only charges when you gain score making it similar to support streaks / Cold War's scorestreak system. A good change imo, not handing out powerful abilities to everyone.

ive been waiting for nero to cover this game! it's a lot of fun despite issues right now but its an actual beta not the demo betas cod releases. im sold on no sbmm thats probably why im really loving it the most maps are good guns movement just things cod fails to do. and i love it. i just hope it has a healthy playerbase and cod sees its a game people want and maybe they'll remember the games they made and release more quality games.

I guarantee they will have a mode where abilities are disabled. A HUGE part of this game is the developer feedback. This game is made by the devs, and you can tell by how transparent they are on twitter. Love that they're doing Call of Duty better than Call of Duty.

I'm not a fan of operator skills, but i could live with it. As long as there is no boost jumping and wall running and hopefully no jumping, I think I'd try this game.

I think Mark Rubin literally walked down to Ubisoft with a CoD reddit thread and some Twitter screenshots and went: this is my pitch, we simply do what this guy's are bitching about missing in CoD. And I love it, I am all for it, not even to see CoD die or vice versa to see CoD actually try and thrive, I am all for it because in the last 5 years we have had 1 game that felt like CoD, and that is sad and pathetic, I am thirsting for some real CoD Gameplay and it looks like XDefiant is where it is

My only gripes are hit detection, strafe speed being a little sluggish and just wanting a super minor increase in aim assist in the slow down part but other than that I'm really loving this game

This game has so much potential, especially when you see how bad COD Warzone II:2042 and COD Modern Warfare II: 2022 are right now (BlackCell and Trophy Hunting Event that stunts your progress, Remember The Haunting of Verdansk Event and good that was: ghosts and ghouls all over the map, Easter eggs and awesome rewards, RIP COD Warzone). It has never crashed on me so far and only two times it lost contact with the server after a game and it reconnected itself and picked up where I left of, showing my progress. Will it be the COD Killer (aside from Activision and Infinity Raven) we can only hope so and lets hope its not another Hyperscape.

I really think that killstreaks should be introduced in some form. I know you get an ultimate or something along those lines but one of the most rewarding things in COD is trying to hit a nuke.

When I first heard about XDefiant I was intriged that it might stand against the CoD franchise. I find it a lot more appealing to me after watching the gameplay and the notes taken down. I cant wait to see more videos on this. I'll have to get my hands on the beta and get a feel for it myself.

I’ve been playing more Rainbow Six Siege than CoD lately. 8 years and still going strong. They just recently said their planning on supporting the game for the next 10 years, so here’s hoping they actually follow through for the next 10 years

They need to stop calling this the call of duty killer or it will eventually be it’s downfall. It needs to have it’s own indentity and can’t just be called a call of duty killer because nothing can kill cod except itself and that’s not really possible. Everytime i hear that it just makes me not want to play the game and keep buying cod. This is a beautiful game on it’s own and should just remain that way.

I enjoyed playing a few hours of this myself. I was dumped on the entire time, but was respawning back to try to kill someone else. I got a few kills and was so excited knowing I was killed by a person with a higher game sense than cheats & hacks.

After playing with SBMM for the last 4 cod releases, especially after MWII, its honestly a deal breaker for me now. I can't have fun with SBMM, so if XDefiant doesn't release with SBMM I might actually give it a shot.

The Alpha was a lot of fun. A lot of the players at that point called it the CoD killer... Personally, I think it has that potential, but that will depend on how much they keep it updated and roll out the content... I enjoyed the nostalgic feel, I used to get with the classic MW2, one round popping off, and the next getting annihilated... I'll be continuing with XDEFIANT once it finally releases... 😁😎

I know it is early on.. but the main worry I have for this game.. it does not offer anything unique, it’s all things we have seen and done before. There have been so many games over the years that have been called “cod killers”. None have succeeded. They all start great, but die later due to lack of content and support and general interest. The ones that come to mind in recent years are Warface and Splitgate. Anyone talk about them? Even Halo Infinite didn’t destroy the competition. The only thing that will kill COD is COD, which it has been dying for years already. This is a nice alternative, but reality check, it’s not gonna kill COD

Ive played it for two days and everyone seems to be spamming the same two factions, one can literally turn invisible and csn activate s personal uav while another just heals a lot and has more health than the rest. But overall its a good game with good ideas, just need to tweak the balancing

yeah the healer used to be extremely broken in the pre alpha stages (and is right now just the only good one to run really), but the invisible chick really isn't OP. She basically has a slightly worse active camo from Halo cus I feel like I see her a lot more while she's invis but she can still get you off guard if you not paying 110% around you

I don’t think any game will kill cod, cod has next level campaign missions and characters that the player base is attached it. Cod will always be popular and on top, no matter how bad it is people still play it and buy it, they always make more and more money each year. I think this a good alternative got when you get sick of cod, but I don’t think it will ever kill it

As of yesterday it feels like the net code has gotten a lot better. The first couple of days it was almost unplayable but as of yesterday it genuinely felt great at least for me and the steamers I watched. Also if ranked isn't the exact same thing as casual then no SBMM had already killed this game.

I got the beta invite via twitch drops. I also got the weapon cosmetics and I have too admit they are beautiful. Just a plane pruple color but it really looks good on the desert eagle and the marksman rifle you get it for. Just have too watch 2 hours of a live stream and you get all drops.

In my opinion its not simmilar to previous CODs if we are talking about CODs before Black Ops 3. I have enough of hero shooters. Would be great to get some mode without all those specialist abbilities. About the SBMM. I have played only couple games before servers were crushed but I didnt had easy matches. I know its beta but for me its more PC fps than for Console. Dont get me wrong game could be great. UI is the way it should be. But its not for sure a CoD killer.
