The game has potential but COD has better gunplay. The only thing that holds COD back is the movement and SBMM which are significantly better in XDefiant but it's a fun fast paced arena shooter which COD is lacking atm.

100% gunplay is worse in Xdefiant. Cod has had decades to refine theirs and it works. I think Xdefiant movement is worse as well. It's jittery and jagged. If they took cod gunplay and movement from something lile MW2019 it would be an incredible experience.

I really hope Ubisoft actually supports the project as they should: sometimes I make a comparison with Siege in my head and I really hope we won't get to that point. For the record, I'm mainly concerned about long waiting times for fixes and unfrequent content drops.

@@bakes1324 I’m happy it has, but we have been getting less content compared to the first 4 years of the game, less operators each season, less new maps, less guns (and the explanation for this was “we don’t want players to have too many guns because players will get confused” I recall) that was my point. XDefiant’s roadmap for year one looks great, I just hope the seasonal updates won’t get smaller and smaller as time goes on.

I think people are taking the heal ability because it's so obviously good and simple, not necessarily because it's actually better. I picked her a lot at the start, and yeah, it's nice to be able to heal. But, most engagements seem to result in someone dying, and her heal is isn't very useful while both parties are actively shooting already. I'm thinking we'll see way more shield guy without balance patches, and in response we're gonna start getting a lot more fire drones too to counter the shield. Don't really know enough about other abilities yet to say if they're balanced, but it seems these three are in balance with each other, and the invisible one can be a wild card for any of them

I was very worried that abilities were gonna be too potent but I'm very surprised at how good the balancing is in this game! I love the game so far. Have played all the betas and enjoy the feel and the fast pace. I do hope the progression is good, I want some dopamine hits for unlocking and ranking up. Excited for classic prestige as well. One thing that worries me is if this game tanks and doesn't take off we won't see another like it for a very long time, and what I mean by that is we won't get developers who are so open and honest and take real feedback and implement it. We won't get another studio make a game the community has been asking for since they might think, "Xdefient was suppose to be that game and it died why should we do it." I mean look at COD, Activision and all their studios shit on their players, don't care about feedback, won't implement changes, (except Treyarc, sometimes) yet it sells like hotcakes every damn year and make so much money, so why would another developer stick their neck out like ubisoft has done, making a game the community has asked for, for so long when it didn't work. If this game dies like Splitgate, we won't see a good arena shooter again for a very long time I think.

After playing the beta, there are a few things that could be changed. I realize that this is a beta and things could change. 1-weapon damage could be increased just a tad. 17 rounds to kill someone doesn't seem right. 2-add either ammo boxes through out the maps or ammo bags when a enemy is killed. Nothing like running out of ammo and unable to replenish your ammo. 3-the ability needs to charge a little faster. I didn't get to use the ability not once. 4-perks.

People have gotten a lot better at games, it's just the way it is. If it's true there's no SBMM though, there's a better chance for more chill lobbies, instead of MW2 which will bend you sideways and rearrange your guts for getting a few UAVs in one match.

The issue you're facing is because most people burned by SBMM will come here. The casual people who are protected won't. You should try playing Team Fortress 2, it is one of the few remaining casual shooters. Though some people will always try their hardest.

I’m gonna be brutally honest. This game feels like a slightly polished Ironsight. I’m burnt out on COD just like everyone else, so I’m looking for another FPS. The movement isn’t all that great. It just seems like it coming from MW2, where you move at turtle speeds. The guns seem balanced for the most part. The faction aspect is cool I guess. I know it’s too early to call it, but I predict this game will follow the same path as BF 2042. All this hype and big player count at launch, then month after month it will begin to dip. And then they’ll all return to COD. XDefiant is missing that “IT” factor. That’s what a game needs to survive. It has no identity right now. Maybe that’ll change later on. I hope I’m wrong. I want this game to succeed.

All i want is customizable emblems and calling cards that require you to achieve something like EX: Get 30 kills without dying you unlock an animated calling card. I feel like the game definitely needs killcams. A lot of the times I die I find myself waiting to see the killcam. I genuinely want to know what that guy did to outplay me. It’s a learning mechanic that just isn’t there in the beta and I hope that it comes to the full game. EDIT- as I was writing this I figure I check twitter to see if Mark has ever talked about adding killcams and sure enough he says YES! Since the SBMM is practically non existent here I think that if they add killstreaks then the streaks should be focused on buffing the team and/or assisting with the objective and not slaying with a super high K/D. Then they should also have a point streak type system for those that are not exactly slayers that would buff their solo abilities/tactics so that they have a better chance of keeping up with the said objective.

The game is pretty good, but there are still times where I shoot someone and it feels like I empty an entire clip into them and barely do damage. But they shoot me and I immediately die 🫤. Not sure if that would qualify as a hit detection issue or a net code one or whatever.

Which is better for this game: mouse and key or controller? Also which is better for sniping? I played a couple of games on pc with controller and it felt like the scoped moved too quick at times but also felt easy to use at the same time when this did happen.

Game could benefit from Killcams, they need to fix Bullet Registration and Hit Detection especially around corners and while Head-Shotting should be rewarded, accuracy for Torso Shots needs to be rewarded because killing with Upper Torso shots is very inconsistent. Another thing XDefiant could benefit from is a Mode that has no Faction Abilities, just Gunfighting. Snipers need to have Flinch too. Aren't there supposedly 36 Guns at Launch?

I have no horse in this race; but regarding snipers, I have always been a proponent of snipers having high flinch to compensate for the fact that they are easily the most rewarding weapon type in most FPS. A sniper should need to adjust, to compensate for flinch given how much they get if they connect; they already have infinite range and the ability to one shot at any range, they should have to work for that benefit. I've sniped in every FPS I've ever played, and that's usually the angle I go when I think about trying to make them more in line with other weapon types. Could do some handling stuff too, but a lot of games go overboard when they do that.

I loved playing the Beta and the only things I would want to see change are the ultimates last slightly longer than what feels like 10 seconds. Also kill streaks would be nice to see. Finally, I just want them to keep this momentum and not let the monetary side of things change everything that made the game great. No "Warzone" BR, no Battlepasses, just earnable content you get for playing the game and progressing.

The "AIM" and "TTK" feels off and being from the UK it seems we have really bad servers. You get the drop on players and hit them 3 or 4 times first with your bullets and then they turn around and 1 or 2 shot you. Have enjoyed playing but if this is not addressed i won't be playing too much. Love to play games where it feels you have an even chance to win but it does not feel this way yet for sure. Hope they address this issue as i think this will stop people playing after a short while. Finding not being able to go fully "Prone" and only being able to crouch takes some getting used to for sure. Also, do not need any TWATS out there commenting "get good" LOL i am good enough but feel this needs addressing.

The core gameplay is really fun and it feels a lot smoother and better with the improved netcode for sure. The spider is really annoying for sure and at least in BO4 we could press a button to stop it from happening. I do feel if the game had faster base health regeneration the Libertad faction would also be a less of a crutch. I love we have so many iconic weapons and I hope they continue that trend forward.

For me I find controlling any gun in this game awful most times, I have tremors pretty close to how bad Parkinson's is. If I lower sensitivity I die, if I raise it I can't control the guns and die there's pretty much no in between for people with disabilities it's much easier to control guns in COD games.

Might sound weird but would be interesting if throwables had to be earned and could be replenished as a sort of "killstreak" system. I can understand not barring the character abilities behind killstreaks because they are important for objective and teamplay and it's kind of core to the gameplay, but throwables would feel more valuable and reward good players with extra utility. It would also make the class customization a little more fun.

Im just curious how attachments work, i hate how in COD you cant customize the weapon completely. If i was specing out a gun IRL i wouldnt just choose 5 attachments. Maybe for game play balance it makes sense but i just dont see how a scope or site should be the reason you cant equip a buttstock or pistol grip.

I really like the attachment for the cracked out reload speed. And the stats by numbers gunsmithing. Maps are all good. But the gameplay feels clunky and the lobbies are filled with super sweats. The only people playing this game are hard-core fps players. Not your average casuals. So it's vastly harder to pop off in lobbies.

Game feels solid. Sometimes my shots dont hit their mark. I'll be behind cover and still get hit. Movement could use some more polish. Some operator abilities need to be balanced.

Ive been sniping for a while, and I think the snipers really need a buff right now. They are pretty rough.

I don't think this will beat cod but I do think it can rival it. Yes there is some balancing issues but remember this is a closed beta, things will change. I do like that xdefiant has more personality than cod and I'm sick how most people in multi-player how most use snipers, it just makes playing online shooters not that fun. Libertad will be over used because of the healing ability and for now its seems they are being transparent, let's hope that lasts

my issue with that game is still the netcode and the fire rate of the weapons that have limiters i mean eihter remove the limiter of single fire or burst weapons or increas all fire rates of weapons by 20-30% if those things would get sorted out it would become instantly 10 times better cuz of that limiter if you click faster then a weapon can shoot it sometimes bugs out and stops shooting i dont know why games do that

Snipers are really fun. Just because you get 1 shot doesn’t mean they need nerfed. Good movement makes it really hard to snipe you. If people wouldn’t stand still all the time, they wouldn’t be sniped super easily.

I think the main thing that can kill this game is next CODs. As much as this game is awsome and insane to play, if next cod instances get back to being good (don't even need to be as good as it was a few years ago, just a bit better), the name will be insanely important. And everybody knows Call Of Duty. It will be kinda sad, cause XDefiant won't do nothing wrong, but that's how it works. Nevertheless, really hyped to play the game, will wait for full release.

Game is good. My main concerns are netcode is iffy. Hit reg is iffy. Why do some characters have 120hp vs the standard 100? That’s a huge balance problem imo. Guns need to do more damage, Or health needs to be adjusted. Why does it actually take 8-10 bullets to kill literally anybody? It’s so annoying. If they don’t change it, they need to make a hardcore mode for us who play that on cod because everyone is a sponge. I like it so far tho aside from what I’ve mentioned. It’s nice to see a game being made simply for that 6v6 mp without any other bs being focused on. Oh, and where tf are the kill cams??

If the devs kept the kill streaks in their own special places thats fine. But the regular 6v6 does not need streaks. They are hard to balance and just encourage people to camp for them. They will be a detriment to the fast paced run and gun play style of the game.

The heal can is okay its the other abilities that need a buff. I first tried the flame on the ground its absolute ass, then i switched to the recon but the radius is so damn short and the cooldown feels so long for such a short duration and radius of intel. But i realised soon enough which one was the best ability right..the healing is just complementary and passive and the cooldown is fast i have it every other life. The other one is good for objectoves as well. The invisibility is okay. The spider is op tho they need to tune that shit tf down lmao

After playing the beta for 24 hours i have concluded that the game is no better than COD. I'm hopeful Treyarch saves COD next year as of now I will be skipping MWllll in 2023 and just fill my free time with other activities..

I'd suggest Rogue Company. It's feels like a mix of BO4, CSGO, and PUBG. It is 3rd person though. It's biggest issue though is the devs aren't sure how to actually fully support it.

I had a VERY good time in the closed beta. That is not the case now. I'm constantly being put on teams with the worst player out there, going up against the sweatiest players I've played since MW2019. It's like that every match. Ever single one! I've not been stomped on this hard in years, and that would be all well and good if there was some sense of balance to the teams. I don't know about others, but this has been brutal. Constant trading of kills, afk teammates, people barely going positive while the opposing team all have 2-3 k/d's per match. If anyone have any thoughts on this, let me have it

Might play it if there's a scar, wouldn't mind customizable point streaks that would cost more and if they add nuke that it doesn't change the map and doesn't end the the game, and specialist

I was actually able to counter snipers easily in this game thanks to the invisible ghillie suit and the spiders. I think its better like this instead of CoD where you need a counter sniper. As for killstreaks, I'm actually against the idea. I think the current system XDefiant has is much better. I'm an old CoD player, I've played the original games. I've played the CoD Black Ops trilogy. Killstreaks were annoying as hell in CoDs. As for its longevity, I don't think it'll end up like splitgate. I think the best comparison is "Shatterline". Shatterline is still very much alive even though its small team of indie devs. Albeit I dropped the game after the amount of grind they added plus issues with the servers that they won't fix. However I know people who poured 800+ hours on that game and still play it. I say XDefiant has even better chance than that. The Hype train will definitely reach home.

I think as far as classes go it has to do with what's the easiest to use and strat with so the Libertads are the easiest to associate with a cod like game than the other factions.

What it looks like to me is a game for those who loved bo2, but then again those who did love bo2 most likely didn't even play the newer cods. So it's more like a bo2 revival than a cod killer

Personally don’t think kill streaks are necessary. It might invite more “camping” especially during objective gamemodes. I like the fast pace feel without having to worry about losing my progression (the abilities not reseting after death) but im open to a game mode with it maybe to test it out
