Been playing CoD for 14 years now and its honestly crazy how hard I have to try every game to avoid being blown away. Every game reminds me of Master league BO2 league play. I miss the days where we could fool around with different setups, play with friends of various skill levels and just have fun. The mechanics of the game are actually quite good but Activision have really killed the enjoyment aspect of CoD

I’ve been a cod player since CoD2, I remember casually coming home from school, hoping on CoD4 or MW2 back in high school and enjoying every match (even the ones that made me rage). I feel like there is no such thing as a casual game anymore. If you’re not trying your hardest in every game then you just get demolished. I used to be decent at CoD when I was younger and would never consider myself good anymore, but when I get home from work I feel like I can’t even relax and play any CoD anymore because I have to try so hard. I feel like the worst thing for me has been what feels like rigged gunfights. I've played cod since the early days like many of you so I'm well aware of when I'm playing like ass (missing shots) and when the gunfights just aren't making sense. Most of my games have been full of moments where I'm dumping half a clip just to get shot by in what feels like 2 bullets and die. The worst part is I'm seeing very clearly in the killcam that my shots hit first and then all of a sudden all my bullets are flying right at the enemy but doing no damage... Also, I'm noticing my enemies are having some ridiculous lock on aim assist even at range in some lobbies while my aim assist is pretty much non existent even though I know how to take full control of rotational aim assist. I'm aware this just sounds like a cope but I know well enough when shit isn't adding up.

I think they will fix it. Just gonna take some time. They haven't even actually taken over the franchise yet. They get publishing control either next year or the year after, so I wouldn't expect any meaningful design changes until 2025 at the earliest. That's supposed to be Infinity Ward's next turn, so we'll see if they play ball, or if they're even allowed to make another game.

In MWII I would always play at peak hours in EST. This wasn't at the tail end of the game's life, this was right after the game came out. With crossplay we're talking maybe *millions* of concurrent players. But I couldn't ever get a low ping lobby and my teammates were always speaking Spanish.

When it matched you with those people from Europe, it wasn’t looking at “skills”, it was looking at ping. But since you still won that game, it decided its next option was to blacklist your team from getting random teammates. It doesn’t want to give you a good match, it just wants you to lose. That is not “SBMM” or “EBMM” and it does not help any new player by being this way. It is simply made to harm decent to good players’ stats and games. Maybe we should just call it Malicious Based Matchmaking or something else, because all this system wants to do is cause harm to players

They score you by several factors like latency, team composition, and skill level. They take your dynamic score and try to match you with people with similar scores. If they can’t find anyone they check farther away at a higher latency until they do. There is supposed to be a time limit that lowers your score the longer you wait so that you can be matched without waiting all day but I think it failed for Nero and they just kept raising the latency until they found another group of players with matching scores… which happened to be In Ireland it seems. I’d imagine it’s harder to do with a party and much easier to find matches for someone playing solo.

Pretty tough on Day 1, having default classes against people who had time to get their Loadouts built. Once I got my settings right and my aim dialed in for this game, and could snap on to targets pretty reliably.. The lobbies started getting laggier and the enemies were jump shotting everywhere. Probably my last CoD as I’m getting older and losing my reflexes, so the SBMM is the nail in the coffin for my casual career lol.

The problem is: Actually there is no SBMM. There is RPBMM. (Recent Performance Based Match Making) Your Recent games and performance determines your further games. Just act like bot for 5 games and watch how easy your sixth game. Vice versa if you did good 5 games, your further games starts nerfing your movement in every way. Game won't register your hits. That was definitely on purpose. They know people will leave if they know they're going against a party so they just don't let you see. I'm surprised they haven't gotten rid of clan tags because if we see (there are two of us that play together) a party of 5 people with the same clan tag, we leave. The coordination these dudes have is annoying to play against, they all designate roles and lock down the map and you can't move.

The kill delays have been brutal. Enemies kill you effortlessly and the kill cam shows you didn't even try. Even tho we have 7 Ping the lowest in the lobby!

Exactly why I have faded away from the game. I was pretty happy grinding over the years to go from a 0.5kd to a 3.0 kd because I felt like I was progressing.. Rightfully so. But now. I mean what's the point.. Every match feels the same... Lobbies disband, there is no community. Only I have a family now and can maybe play 5 hours a week... So I'm still good enough to get good matches but them I'm immediately put in with folks spending all day...

I’m pretty sure they got interviewed for the OG MW3 and openly said they wanted it to gear to new players. The TTK, SBMM, map design, ALL of it, was geared towards bad players / new players. Because those are the people that spend the money, and are the majority. The minority of these top players are punished. If I don’t slide everywhere, jump shot, drop shot, pre-aim every corner, I 9/10 will die. All the players in my lobby have either nuke skins/calling cards or are Top 250. I don’t want my social playlists swarmed with cracked out sweats.

I'm in Japan and I would constantly get put in lobbies with Mexicans and Germans. (Not sure how they picked those countries) I've had this problem since BO2 when I was back in the US. The last game I played beyond the beta was WWII and people were phasing around the map and just shooting me in the back. And there were plenty of Japanese/East Asian players in the HQ and I was able to have good matches in the 1v1 pit.

I played with a mate on PC and I'm in Canada, he's in Texas, we both got in a lobby where we had 300 ping. My Xbox said my ping was 39ms. He sent me a screenshot so I would believe it because I thought he was lying to me. This game is straight up GASLIGHTING you on your ping if you're on console.

Sbmm is ruining multiplayer in almost all genres of gaming it’s quite sad. 2019 cod was the last cod that i could tolerate the sbmm. I exclusively play hardcore search so its easier to just clutch up even when my teammates aren’t sentient creatures. Hell, ive dropped 2 nukes in search. But now? Nahhh theres wayyyy too much against us now it sucks

I quit cod mainly because of SBMM, i was so ass at cod when i first started, i was a 0.50 k/d in WW2 and my goal was to get my k/d to 1 and after WW2 was over i had about a 1.7 k/d and bo4 had over a 4 k/d, it was so much fun trying to get better, thats the world we live in now tho, everything has to he fair for everyone

I have my own run in with dumb skilled based match making on mw2 raked just started on a brand new account and I was facing a 6 man team lvl 50 platinum with ruby fire win streak like wtf. And then on lunch day of the beta and base game I got put in these really sweaty lobbies of the start I want the old matcha back like the old cods.

And to think this whole thing was resolved back at Black Ops 2 with a bootcamp playlist, where people below lvl 10 where all matched together. They're trying to reinvent the wheel here and fix what ain't broken.

Okay, so it’s not just me. I have 500+ hours in mw2 and pulled a 2.27 kd. In mw3, im going negative every other game. Went from getting chopper gunners every or every other game to being happy with a 17-14 match.

@@paranoia_xo I could see that happening whilst playing the beta, but playing MW3 right now I just think Xdefiant can get a good amount of players and be successful. The open beta of xdefiant was actually really good. Combine the no SBMM with console only crossplay will attract a decent amount of players. Still there’s a chance right now that the game might never come out, as free to play and COD might make Ubisoft think otherwise than supporting a game with no potential income.

@@22QXX112Go to manage the game settings and take off the modes you don’t play. Just taking off campaign alone and also taking MWII off will make it go back to like 120-150gb. They are lumping both games in together but you don’t need to have MWII installed for any reason.

Thanks for confirming I shouldn't by this game. My lobbies have always been over 100 ping as a solo player. It's always frustrating to get a good match. Nope I'm waiting on xdefient that will be my fps this year.

For me ping has been fine as a solo player. I get 40 or less. The game gets you in different ways if you do good like spawn you near enemy’s or aim resist or your gun does less damage.

They need to remove tactical sprint. Why does everyone not realise that the ability to slide and tactical sprint is causing the game to be 10x sweatiers thanks to all the bullshit movement. Secondly, they need to completely delete SBMM. When Cold war came out, everyone loved the Multiplayer except for the SBMM.

Both my KD and WL are below 1 because I keep being put into lobbies where the team I’m in is being horrendously destroyed by sweats where my KD takes a massive hit. Literal 3-17 type of games. In which case I end up leaving which hits my WL. It’s so ridiculously stupid

Yep completely agree on the bot stuff. There's a game called naraka bladepoint which is a melee focused battle Royale and with a high skill ceiling but for awhile most of your lobbies are gonna be AI mainly. It's the reason I dropped it even though I really really enjoyed practicing and learning all of what the game had to offer but I couldn't tell if I was getting better.

My grandma has been playing MW3 and she said shes been having fun because she can actually kill people and not get annihilated every game. Unfortunately i think its robbed her of actually getting better at the game. Whenever we party up the difference in lobbys is crazy. Not to mention match making search time is absolutely cranked up too the max as well. Whenever we party up she never ends up with any kills unfortunately. Its almost like we are playing 2 different games.

On mw2 I have around a 1.9 ish KD and so far playing around 40 games of MP on this game I have a 0.75 KD lol. All I find are hardcore jumpy, dropshotting no 🐈 sweats

And y'know, that's why you don't buy into the hype. I actually almost bought MWIII because I'm looking at all this nostalgic stuff + Zombies. MW2 original was my first Cod, MW3 was the one I spent so much time on I hit max rank and then continued to prestige after that point, lol. MW3 was like 20 prestiges and they allowed you to keep resetting your level. So I almost got caught up with that and beforehand we were getting slight confirmations that maybe SBMM wouldn't be so bad. And yeah, this confirms my suspicions on that front. And I always feel like I'm obligated to explain why I hate SBMM, cuz there's still a ton of doubters. SBMM isn't inherently bad. It's bad the moment you put it in a "casual" mode. If it's meant to be casual, then let it be casual. I don't want to feel like I'm always signing up to be next in Evo. If I wanted that, I'd play ranked. It's not to get in easier lobbies, it's so I can wind down after a stressful day at work.

SBMM is not an issue in terms of the “sweaty” aspect of it. You SHOULD play against people of your skill level,that’s only fair. However you should never be above 60-70 ping,no matter what. There needs to be a balance.

Funny enough my ping is always below 30 in my games but the game messes with my aim and damage so might as well be high ping. Also I’ll get first 3 bullets off on my screen and when I watch kill cam they unload half a clip and my guy never shoots a bullet I’m like that’s a damn lie.

There is no seesaw effect, it only progressively gets harder and harder to the point it’s impossible to play. Also, I am not really good, I get slaughtered regularly and SBMM doesn’t help me, it only hurts

I love the feel of MW3 but I’ve already uninstalled. The last cod I played was 2019 MW and the skill based matchmaking wasn’t too bad on there. I used to like cod as a casual game, I’ve always been good at it, but that doesn’t mean I want to sweat everytime I play. There is no more casual playing of COD, not to mention I’ve already ran into someone blatantly hacking on the 2nd day. They figured out a way to ruin the fun aspect of COD with SBMM but still haven’t managed to stop hackers. I’m finally giving up on cod
