Taemin is doing a melodic rap, forever destroying the idea that he can't rap. You also see why we say that Taemin is the best dancer of Kpop. One dancer who reviewed this today said he could already tell this was a very difficult choreo. Yet, Taemin makes it look so fluid and effortless. I'm pretty sure that alternating move (when you thought he was out of sync with the backup dancers) is intentional to show contrast and make him stand out. Taemin monitors every little detail of his MVs. If that had not been intentional, it wouldn't have been in there. He's almost fanatical about perfection...lol. For some inexplicable reason, Taemin gets a lot of hate. Just look at the down votes that always seem to appear on his MVs. It truly is people with small minds who just can't reconcile, comprehend, or admit that Taemin is in a league of his own; he can't be defined, and his artistry can't be touched. I like the black/white suit which seems to represent the duality of his personality, or that nothing is "black and white". In other words, don't spout off about what you know nothing about. I believe the small room and large Taemin is either him saying, "I'm too big to be confined to your small mind", or "Your pea-brain can't contain me". The car crash I see as him saying, "Watch me smash your idea of me...like when he says "Push my buttons...I'll show you the end." When he says, "You'll never get the keys of my lock" it seems he's saying haters will never reach inside him. However, as Taemin always has dual meanings to his lyrics, and he said this was connected to NGDA in the fact that this is the new him/ego that has emerged from the battle between "Criminal" and "IDEA", he could be referring to the toxic thoughts that were always spouted by his "Criminal"/original ego. Now that Taemin is free of that, he's putting that ego in his place and saying he will do things his way and not listen to his old ego's negative advice. He will listen to one advice - his own (the new Taemin). Just speculation on my part. Taemin does things "my way". He doesn't follow Kpop trends; he makes them, and he doesn't care about what is popular. He just wants to do the music he likes. Let's face it, Taemin is much bigger than just Kpop. As music critic Youngdae Kim said, ""He [Taemin] is one of the most unique and exemplary solo artist among all Korean music scenes." From "The Artist: Taemin". Taemin has a very big heart and loves everyone, so if this is also for those haters out there, then I'm glad he did this masterpiece because I hate to see him get hurt by little minds with nasty words.

Definitely it's about the criticism celebrities get from the public - the media and the people on the Internet. If people calling idols "flops" and "losers" on the internet think that idols don't read their comments, now they know that they do. The line about the torso in my opinion is about people criticising him for tattooing his body, saying that he "destroyed" something they thought was theirs to obsess about. This is the first time he's shown his hip tattoo, that was being previously covered, for instance in his "Idea" MV.

TLDR: I think the song is about not letting others tell you who you are or limiting yourself when you start believing that you will always only be who they tell you to be. IMO the concept of the song is Taemin voicing his disapproval of toxic media prying into the privacy of celebrities and how they tend to trap them into an image that they can't escape or break through. Him "destroying his torso" is about breaking their perception of him and escaping that innocent baby image that he had from the beginning of his career. And then when he says that he should take his own advice, it correlates with the scene of him being trapped in his own mind. Because of how other people portray him, he even doubts himself and he eventually internalized their message and puts himself in that box. This song is about breaking out of that box and expressing yourself the way you want to, and about how he has matured as an artist and as a person throughout his career.

Aaron, the hip tattoo and the fact that he revealed it in this MV is very significant. Just in IDEA, he also wore crop tops but covers the tattoo, same in Criminal. Advice is like a conclusion to the trilogy series of Criminal, Idea and Advice combined as Taemin is letting the world know he has evolved and breaking the stereotypes or delusions both the industry and crazy fans have tried to project on him for his entire career. That hip tattoo definitely looks like a black rose to me and I feel his song, Black Rose from NGDA Act 1 really explains that and how he's embraced fully who he is and no longer subjecting himself to what others think of him. I think this is one of the most iconic final comebacks a korean artiste has ever done before he takes a break for his military service because it'll linger in the minds of everyone on what next to expect from him when he's back and how much void the industry will have with his absence Apart from the hip tattoo, I see he has two more, one on left rib side and another at the back. I also think it's meta-commentary on his own career and place in the industry, since he's struggled with his body image and the whole theme of his past 3 comebacks has been about breaking down and redefining his image as an artist. I was thinking about the lyrics, and my theory for the lyric, "I destroy the torso that you were chasing after", is that Taemin always had a bit of an innocent, somewhat cute image because he was the youngest. I think alot of people were attracted to the innocent side of him, and liked him only because of the image that he had, and that they were more so chasing after the untouchable/untouched aura that he had, instead of him as a person or artist. In love with the idea of having him rather than in love with him. But, like in the lyrics for 'Pretty Boy', where he reiterates that, "I won't pretend to be innocent like a puppet", and "I may always seem pretty/good/nice/soft", I think by saying he 'destroyed the torso', it could mean, he now has tattoos on his torso, and so he is breaking away from the innocent image and becoming more than just what people labelled him as, more than just a "pretty boy idol". Since in some cultures, when people get tattoos, elders say that they destroyed their beautiful body. Perhaps Taemin is saying that he's destroyed that fantasy that people have of him, the innocent untouched image that was curated. And that destruction is symbolized by getting tattoos on his torso, essentially scarring what was once untouched/pure/pretty. Additionally, I think 'Advice' is a sequel to 'Pretty Boy' in a way, with lyrics around perception and judgement, e.g, "Rumors and Interceptions", "Everyone talks so easily", and "I'm above the imaginations in your head" (Pretty Boy) .vs. "Show your imagination in a more novel way" (Advice)
