Horizon's dancers are Madonna and Beyonce's dancers and her choreographer, in interviews they said that they danced for the greatest kpop dancer and they were proud to work with an artist like him

Many people were afraid that once Taemin leaves SM, group with lots of resources, connections etc, Taemin might not be able to produce the quality of music we used to, but in contrary Taemin showed and promoted very important idea: "Taemin is Taemin no matter what", and what we saw almost 10 years of his solo career under SM was the direct result of HIS talent and HIS utmost dedication to his craft. People complaining that Horizon MV is not so complex or story telling as Guilty for example haven't paid close attention to actual lyrics and many symbolisms: - the little boll decending in beginning, finding himself circled by knives can represent Taemin's soul/cosmic energy that is trapped, then in middle he finds it and it gives him strenght he needs to break free from cold red coridors (may reprent his fans giving him love and hope) - the glass box he dances within might represent him as idol and whatever happens with him are in eye of public expressing their opinion since the words in white on glass, while Taemin dances he writes his own signature on glass in black letters showing he is the one defining himself - the obelisk behind him and dancers in last chorus usually represent ascend to his higher self, this scene is priored by lyrics "not afraid, better days" showing he overcame inner struggles and hope for better future under new brand - his dancers as usual do reprent his emotions, in beginning they trap him, creating a spiral of fear, insecurities, but once he finds his strensght and finds light in the end of that red corridor those dancers just dissapear in thin air and then cramble, that's why in the end of MV he pushes them away and stays alone and essentually free - and last but not least Taemin always had ambitions to expand far beyond Korea, so "spatial horizon" might represent his desire to go international and launch world tour which BPM managed to provide to him instantly, while SM was deaf to it for all 10 years he was with them. Taemin stays complex and deep Artist, if you are open to dig deeper and actually pay attention to what he portrays ❤

I think Guilty video is so complex also because Taemin wanted to give us his message detailing how has been his life in the industry(besides the song itself). A closure with his previous life. Maybe I read too much in it, but it was not easy at all for him all these years.

Once again you nailed the key ideas with a few words. It's always a pleasure to see what you "organically" take note of. Your antenna is very well tuned to his style. You picked that up the 6:49 thing, good one! Yes that's not just Taemin self-referencing his other title song but narrative CONTINUITY, my favorite love for this unwavering dgaf 'just do my own thing blaze my own trail' artist. "Escape" is the word. Escaping what exactly, doesn't need to be one institution. The record label, the top floors, are people who come and go. It is always about escaping The System. To your closing words, indeed the lyrics translation is very diluted as in flattened in meaning, so much so a few core fans felt that this song is "just a dance performance number" unlike his other story-telling works. In reality, from my multilingual multi-hyphenated entertainment background perspective, that is far from true. Taemin never does skin-deep. This is possibly the most unambiguous 'I want to cross the Pacific ocean horizon" statement song he has ever done, audio, visual, lyrical, conceptual. Oh, I smile at your IDEA observation at 11:40. Open sky aside, Taemin wore a powder blue suit head to toe, so yeah. I like long context Taemin analysts because they are rare like...Taemin. Cheers!

Forgot to add... may I ask on behalf of the fandom for a direct video link at your end screen to Taemin's Horizon MV, currently dwindling and crawling under 2M. Given the fact that the algo god penalize unjustly terminated videos the same way as actual strike-terminated videos, Horizon MV may or may not be resuscitated. But let's do what we can! Cheers...

It's retro futurist, leaning dark futurist as you mentioned around the solo dance bridge 10 minutes in. Taemin drinking light from the hovering light ball shot is amazing innit, one of many iconic compositions in this MV...

About the lyrics, the entire album has a loooot of references to new beginnings, breaking free and throwing yourself into a new world even if that's scary. He participated producing all the songs, and wrote the lyrics for Deja Vu and Say Less, I really hope you do an album reaction and check all songs as you've done with past albums. The Unkwon Sea is especially telling about what you described with the lyrics here!

Many of foreign dancers in the Horizon MV are/were backup dancers for Beyoncé and Madonna. At 5:12 the two women that walk off in either direction. The woman on the left is Kany. Kany used to choreograph for Beyoncé and was a Shawol for many years before meeting and choreographing for the boys. She did the choreography for "Hard". She's also choregraphed Blackswan's "Karma." Since meeting SHINee for "Hard" she has now become close with all the members especially Taemin and Key. She called in the other American dancers you see in the MV. She also helped modify some of the Horizon choreography but I'm not sure which parts. The woman to the right of Taemin with the blonde afro is Ashley Everett, she was Beyoncé's dance captain for years. I think it's really significant that Taemin brought in well-known American dancers to back him up for this, it really felt like a statement to me. Many of them have expressed how honored and happy they were to get to dance with him and praised his skills, as many others have already done but it's so good to see him expanding and getting that international praise especially ahead of his world tour!

Yes, these 2 MVs have a lot of reference to his previous works. The shot where he was hiding his face is similar to 'Goodbye'. It feels like he's revisiting his past before starting something new. Plz do react to other content like the stages & his ongoing WT, Ephemeral Gaze too. Thanks.

I have a theory Horizon MV is using the atom with electron-proton as metaphor. The atom symbolizes the company, with the electron-proton representing idols. Taemin, as the electron, feels confined and limited within this system. The metaphor of idols orbiting around the proton highlights the industry's hierarchical structure, where artists often feel trapped in a cycle of expectations and limitations. Taemin as the main character dreams of being in a plasma, a highly energetic state of matter, represents his desire for greater freedom and creative expression. The ionization by a photon of green light symbolizes a transformative event, perhaps a breakthrough or a personal realization, that allows him to break free from the constraints and find his true potential as a free electron. I can be a reach but I think with his nerdy nature and high interest in quantum physics, it's not impossible hahaha
