Man after watching this, I need to get back under my dash and relocate relay. Haha. The kill switch wire is quite hard to get to too…a thief would still have to struggle for a bit with it but in like your idea better. I also have anti theft elsewhere…but the relay relocation is a great idea.

For sure. A couple weeks after I got my GS-R running, it would randomly cut out for a second. The first thing I did was look under the dash at the main relay, and sure enough, there was some ghetto kill switch tied in there. The switch was buried behind the center consol, but all I did to fix it was pull the wires off the back of the connector for the switch and tie them back together. Didn't even have to find the switch 😂

I know this is a little bit more work but I put the factory relay back and made a fake wireing harness so it looks like nothing has Been changed. And hidden the new setup

I don't get it. Can't you just hook a $2 kill switch to the ignition itself or perhaps the fuel pump fuse or whatever? Also, I would be wary of actually having to switch out an OEM Main Relay for an aftermarket part...... I mean, how reliable are these? Am I missing something here? Unless your main relay is already failing and you need to buy one anyway, I guess this would be an OK option to look into, but still..... i reality, it really is just a $2 kill switch in the end. *scratches head*

In a sense, yes. But these main fuel relays go bad, especially being 30+ years old now. Converting your car to a regular style relay makes it way easier and cheaper to replace if the relay quits on you, especially if you're driving out of town or a road trip. You can just go to a parts store and grab a generic relay and you're back on your way rather than ordering one online, having to get it shipped and your car towed if you don't happen to have another OEM relay handy which most people wouldn't carry one in their car. Can even just pull a relay from a non essential thing in the car and pop it in the JDi conversion and be on your way. I had my OEM relay go out on me at work before in my Wagon and I had to go to the junk yard to pull one out of a car. The benefits that I saw with this kit is what I stated above plus installing just a $2 switch and wire, you're cutting the factory harness which isn't ideal. You also don't get that extra length with the jumper harness that comes with the kit to relocate your relay completely. Otherwise a thief can just look down at your OEM relay, because they know where they are, cut the wires and tie it back together like I mentioned in the video. Also, the quality of the wire harness that you get with the JDi kit is really nice. Already has loom on it and whatnot, so it's way stronger and more durable to be running through the car to hide. Most people just run a basic wire through for a switch and it eventually wears through and shorts out. I've seen it before, a couple times.

The JDI kit uses Bosch relays which are standard OEM parts for almost every car now. So it’s still a quality OEM part, just not 30+ year old Honda.

JDI products are just cheap rebranded Chinese stuff. Beware buying any of their products as their customer service sucks even more than their products.

I haven't heard anything bad about them. The relay and kill switch is also a very basic product so not much to go wrong with it
