Id say this is probably the most honest review ive seen on this rig. When you watch a video of a truck thats bouncing all over the place, the suspension just isnt working like a short course truck's should, but it gets a rave review, there is something wrong. I feel like its a cool truck, but it needs some serious suspension tuning, and tires that can grip more than just grass and pavement, especially since it happens to be a short course truck. Honestly, i wouldnt be nearly as critical if it were priced more realistically for what it is. At $700, it should come out of the box capable of actually running off road. Good review, gentlemen. I appreciate your honesty.

It's durable we did not break anything. So I wouldn't call it a shelf queen. But it just fell short of expectations. With some tuning, im sure it will perform better. But this was a straight out of the bix review like your average user would experience. Thanks for watching

Having both 4s and 6s Mojaves plus a SBR 2.0 this isn't a truck i planned to buy. What i would have bought without watching a review would have been a XRT/ Slash. I really like my SBR 2.0 but it's no basher by far. The Mojaves are both great bashers and good sct trucks. I just wish Arrma would make a bigger 8s version. If Traxxas had i would have bought it. The Mojave's already have this size sct basher market covered really well. To the point it'll be really hard to improve on them and stay competitive price wise. Traxxas chose a tough fight and even upped the price and it does not appear to me they upped the performance. Honestly I'm not convinced they matched it. I'll find out for sure tomorrow. I'll have my Mojaves and 2 friends who picked up the Maxx Slash and are getting together to figure out what's what. We're even throwing in a UDR and the SBR2.0 even tho we know they'll both probably be broken before the first lvc. I'm really curious if that rear suspension is as bad as it looks on video. I can't decide if it's a lack of travel, tuning, or both but it really seems to enjoy bouncing a lot. Best of luck and i hope everyone who bought a Maxx Slash loves it or is at least able to get enough out of it to buy a Mojave.

Great job gents! I have been waiting to bring mine to a construction site and this gave me a great idea of what to expect! Looks like I need to adjust the suspension before I go! I had to buy mine too and was thrilled on the street and flat loose dirt but thought on sand or really rough roads it may be not so good. Just subscribed!

I have not found a negative vid of the mojave 4s/6s. The maxx slash on the other hand.... I have the mojave 6s and after this vid i will be buying the 4s mojave in may. And if, in a year or two, there will be a 1/5 or 1/6 scale mojojojo i will be buying that to probably

i was let down pretty considerably a few summers ago when i finally started making some good money and bought a xmaxx (because who didn't have this truck on their bucket list at one point) and a brand new set of proline wheels/tires. almost $1300 later i couldn't be more disappointed. i had to warranty the esc and motor, twice... then the receiver. i didn't even give the servo a chance i just threw in an NSDRC and considered that a "cost of entry" mod. that goddamn truck couldn't turn to save its fucking life and that was after upgrading all the steering components AFTER the direct power servo. the thing that really pissed me off is the guy at the shop didn't even bother to recommend me the belted versions of the same fucking tires i bought. they were pizza slicers as soon as you hit full throttle. needless to say this whole experience really turned me off of anything high speed that traxxas makes but really made me do a considerable amount of research before i buy anything now. in my experience as someone who can afford pretty much anything i want the only brands that consistently deliver solid products are Losi, Arrma and Axial

You got a lemon.... only thong that ever broke on my xmaxx was 1 lower a-arm and a bent center driveshaft.. xmaxx is one of the best..

I just bought a roller chassis xmaxx off of ebay. I built it without any traxxas electronics in it and all of the easy mods that most traxxas xmaxx owners do. Rpm captured hinge pins, rpm hubs, thicker shock oil, some small aluminum bits, and outdrive aluminum rings. I gotta say that I tried to break this damn thing. I sent it off of the same jumps that bent my outcast 8s exb chassis. Didn't break a single part. I was surprised. It has taken beating after beating. It just keeps on ticking.

The Xmaxx is great except for the motor and ESC and RX and TX. I only use the upgraded Traxxas servo on my X-Maxx. I've been beating it up for 5 years and it's an amazing machine. I don't use the Traxxas tires either. I use 1/5 electronics and other upgrades. Double backflips off huge ramps is not a problem 👍

Only condition I’ve seen it does well is perfect dry flat surface. And plenty of RC’s do that even better. Throw ANYTHING at it and it can’t perform. Dirt, bumpy terrain, ramps, jumps, this RC fails hard. Review after review agrees, this RC sucks (except MSM of course).

Great review guys. You think $699 is a lot, it’s $1060 in Canada . For that kind of money it needs to knock your socks off , and from what I’ve seen it’s just not worth it. $800-$1500 are the norm for bashers at the top of the scale , and then a lot of times you have to upgrade them to make them better . This one didn’t seem exciting to me from the start, and with the videos out there, not looking much better.

That's crazy. The best basher truck I have personally owned is the arrma Notorious 6s. That thing just keeps on going no matter what I do to it. They are around 500 buck here. Thanks for watching

My first impressions of this r/c was that it is not a jumper and it would not perform well in deep sand. The beauty of this truck design can be found on hard packed low traction surfaces where it can drift. I think it can handle small jumps fairly well. Brakes or throttle don't seem to adequately control this truck in the air. I think I would avoid this. It's a big truck so you can appreciate it's scale. It sure is durable but why bash it. Stick to the smaller version if bashing and sending are your thing.

Oh, and give me a big field of short grass. This truck would be a real hoot in that environment. At a $700.00 price point I'd make a concerted effort to take care of it.

Thanks for buying one that's where you put paddle tires on it when you run insane and don't worry, there's gonna be a lot aftermarket parts for rc you're missing the other point too. It's clippeless body and it's super baja ray two point oh, has a million screws to take off the barley and that goes the same with traxxas udr
