Honest Review - Test Kitchen - Virgin Voyages Food

I will admit I would not want to sit in the seats you were in for three hours. Otherwise, this looks like a fantastic meal (but I love the molecular gastronomy approach to food preparation). I would not expect the three hour timeframe to shorten much but I do think it could be done in 2 1/2 hours. However, I would not want to shorten it much more than that. After all, it is a very unique experience that many individuals never get to experience. And it’s very much a multi sensory experience. That said, my recommendation would be know your palate before you enter. If you’re a cautious eater, this is definitely not for you. Thank you for the review. I am trying to find reasons to go on a Virgin Voyages cruise. This might be one. 🥰

Totally agree, I *think* we were between two services? There were dinners going out while others were still being seated and I think somehow we fell into that other seating. That said it was "good" and its definitely not a bad restaurant at all but I think it's a unique one to know what you're getting into as you said. It was fun and the service was great like every other Virgin restaurant. Between this and Wonderland on RCI I think I'd still pick this TBH but were going to be trying them both again shortly to see if these were one off issues or not. We think you're right on the money with know what you are getting into but it was done really well (from what we could tell at least!) it just took SOOO long! :) I highly suggest you try Virgin, its a very interesting cruise line and you can make of it what you want. 90's boy band dance classes or just relaxing on the lido decks. @@TravelingFlamingo Thank you for the response. I’ve watched many Virgin Voyages videos and I’m just not sure. I sail on Celebrity primarily but we have booked Symphony of the Seas next year and got the unlimited dining package so I am very excited for Wonderland. I do believe (based on the videos I have watched) that it’s more of a molecular gastronomy experience than it looked to be in Test Kitchen. And I also believe it requires a little bit of an adventurous spirit and open mind. Because things are not always as they seem.😇🤣 I look forward to your revisits to both. Thanks, again. 🥰

3 hours is an inordinate amount of time for a meal and consumes time you'd want to have available for other activities.

I would not have wanted high top tables and chairs for 3 hours and agree that often indoor areas on cruises are too cool, though my husband wouldn’t agree.

Just pulled this video from my saved video list. OMG, I tried some test kitchens before and I have to say most of them are hit or miss. HAHA. I didnt know they has some on the ship. Thanks for the look. LIKE 39. 👍👍👍

were not going to try test kitchen on our cruise in december on resilient lady, i would not be able to eat any of the food, it would make me feel very ill. i have a very sensitive tummy and eating there is just pushing my comfort zones way too much

We tried both the A and B menus. I would be willing to eat A again with some subs from the vegetarian menu (sub gazpacho for mushroom, for instance). Also, the chocolate desert from the Vegetarian menu is AMAZING. The people sitting next to us got the vege menu and offered us a taste.. The chocolate desert in the A menu was good, but the vege menu was super good. Honestly, we chose to skip Test Kitchen on our next cruise. My travel companion said OK to A menu if I really wanted to, but I wasn't that thrilled with it. Service was excellent. The price of the drink pairings has increased a bit. Dinner took about 2 hours, not 3 for us. The only place that service was really slow and took 2 1/2 hours was The Wake.
