Honest Review: The NERF Ultra Strike (Not Actually Terrible?!?!?)

The Ultra Speed was maybe one of the worst blasters Hasbro has ever made period and is sharing shelf space with the Ultra Strike, which might be one of the few okay Ultra blasters. I don't understand.

Designers and engineers don't necessarily make good products that people actually want. You get products THEY WANT. They also tend to get carried away, products are never quite finished, there's always something more to alter or add on... and you either never get a finished product, or it ends up being so complicated and expensive that nobody buys it.

FYI the blaster won’t operate without the barrel in place. There is a micro switch in the barrel that senses the barrel extender.

So they'll put a micro switch in to detect when the ugly barrel is put into place, but they can't paint both sides of their products to save their lives

​@@SUPER_ZOMBIE Well, unlike me, 90% of people in the world are right handed. This means that one side of the blaster isn't seen when in use. When not in use, people are quite capable of picking it up and looking on both sides if they need to see pretty stickers. 😁 Seriously, saving a few pennies on each and every blaster by reducing something completely decorative and non functional, soon mounts up when you make hundreds of thousands of them. Anybody who is so hung up on a few stickers and some paint on one side of a toy blaster really needs to look at their priorities. 😂

The only advantage to using ultra i can see is it is a rarer ammo type to see on the field so you're less likely to have sustained return fire from the opponent

And it has a higher speed and better accuracy than a standard Nerf blaster using standard darts? But let's face it... the VAST majority of users aren't taking part in proper, competitive matches, they're running round the house and the garden screaming and shouting at each other. Because they are kids and teenagers. Therefore the technical differences aren't so important, whilst aesthetics and a cool name are.

Double stack/ single feed magazines require crazy spring pressure. Double stack/double feed magazines are tricky to get to fed properly with actual ammunition, much less flat rubber tipped darts

I think the blaster has a microswitch at the front that detects the barrel being attached, so I dont think it works without it being plugged in.

I have one and I am gonna say I like the look of it minus the barrel. But as I haven't modded it yet I will warn you it will not work without it as there is an electronic switch

I have one of those, there is a barrel lock, so you can't operate it without the barrel. On the other hand, the seams in the stock are great for ripping your facial hair out, and on a genuinely positive note, you can take the front sight off a Dart Zone Adventure Force Matrix Fire a pair it with the built-in rear sight for a reasonable sight picture

I picked one up over the holidays, and I love it, but does yours rev without a clip and with the jam door open? Because mine does, out of the box, no mods. I can reload with the flywheels at full rev and it's pretty nice.

It's funny, I've beat the hell out of my Ultra darts and the only ones that get destroyed are the ones I run through my Ultra 2 (flywheels are terribly misaligned). I've shot them a ton through my other Ultra blasters and they seem to hold up really well.

I will admit that it is probably the coolest nerf gun, next to the Ultra ONE I personally think its nice to get at least something unique out of nerf, instead of overpriced FORTNITE guns and ELITE 2.0 reskins Well, that was until I got the Ultra One, yeah I do not like it, its a bit meh, maybe even a bit bad in general. Doublestacked mags? Maybe the community would invent one among a million other things for Ultra if the influencer hate wasnt so monotonously constant. There is a market for it. Some people have jobs and dont care about a 6or7thor8th ammo type. Its all good. Theyre sharp looking blasters.
