I like how Keanu Reeves had to play a criminal that could be sentenced to 70 life sentences without parole for the murders he committed just to escape his 'dude' image. Alex Jackson I think you're missing the point of John Wick. It's not about the crimes he committed or the ethics involved, it's about how good that movie was and it's revitalization of Keanu's career. But seriously, how good was John Wick? I think it had to do with his other roles always being the "new" guy who was excited and enamored with what was going on. They always made Keanu seem younger and would bring back memories of the childish innocence of Bill & Ted. John Wick was so hyper-competent that there wasn't the chance for him to evoke those memories and it contrasted against them very well. I think he just needed time to get older roles.
