Yea totally. Also, I have to agree with the Honest Trailer guys, the Cap outfit in the Winter Soldier has been so far the best. Why didn't they just stick with it? And okay Cap stole that original one for nostalgia reasons I guess or so that Bucky will better recognise him which is smart, but - The new suit is also kind of a body armor when you look at it closely, it's more practical, it's... It's just cooler okay? Why can't they have him wear that all the time. Also, I'd love to see some sort of a... War suit, a full body armor for Cap with kevlar platings, utility pockets and belts, a thicker, bulkier build and stuff. For when he has to go into battle against aliens and flying giant robotpenises again. Thoughts?

Surprised noone mentioned Breaking Bad. That's basically a commercial for the series. I can't help but thinking where the nitpicking went then... The Last of Us was also very highly recommended. Despite the fact that I really love the latter, and sorta like the former, they both had some more nitpicking to be done. Still, I do think you could be a little ''nicer'' to certain titles, and acknowledge what many people think. For example bashing the later movies in the Disney Renaissance and later movies like Tangled (who actually have a higher imdb rating than Frozen you said was so much better), and also bashing Lawrence's acting in Hunger Games which received almost universal critical acclaim.
@DieWilWheatonDie9 жыл бұрын
JadeToniRitsa L this one is complimentary because it is supposed to be a nod to the director. Joe Russo, one of two brothers who made this film mentioned in some interviews that he loves Honest Trailers and when he was making this film he would go through the script and alter certain things in order to make this movie, in his own words, "Honest Trailer-proof". If somebody makes a Hollywood blockbuster keeping your criticizms in mind and changes it in order to please you of course you'll make the video about this film positive :)

Dion7 You can blame that on Marvel comics as opposed to the film production group. They've been using that logo for many, many years. When making the movie, they kept it because of familiarity to the comic fans.
@f.i.r.e.51196 жыл бұрын
It's a really, really old logo from the comics, but Gideon Malick actually justified the octopus in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (The _maybe_ two people besides me who still watch that show might remember.) "The octopus," Malick says, "is one of the great symbols of Hydra; they are intelligent, adaptable, and _ruthless killers."_ "Well, it's a terrifying symbol... not my idea of dinner. But, I am adaptable..." - Grant Ward

To the Nitpicking 1. Probably when it was filled with bullets 2. Tony Stark's hacking was stopped 3. Probably the fact that half it's agents were members of a secret Nazi Death Cult and those members usually made it to key positions like recruitment, like Jasper Sitwell, so they were able to recruit candidates easily. It was explained in Agents of Shield. 4. They were trying to figure out how it worked again 5. Probably because if they had staged a big assassination like that, there would be questions and they were waiting to reveal themselves.

@DemigodoftheSea10 жыл бұрын
Justice Suks Exactly, and it's stated that the Avengers were tried out before, maybe it's Hydra that stopped them then? I believe we might get a glimpse of that in Agent Carter, seeing the original Avengers, the original Ant-Man, so on and such. Maybe we'll get, T'Chaka as well, and we'll see why it didn't work and what Hydra did to stop it. After all, we see the Avengers initiative was scrapped, maybe that's why.

In defense of the nits picked: • The Hydra in SHIELD plot was developed in Agents of SHIELD. So yeah, not really in the films, but still in-universe. • Winter Soldier was using specialized sniper rounds. Fury's vest only stopped small arms fire in _Avengers_. • Tony _did_ find out about Hydra; we just didn't know it. I'm pretty sure Phase 2 (using the Tesseract to power a giant space missile) was a Hydra plan. • Good HR software? • Zola explained that Red Skull's outright conquering was ineffective, and that people would fight less if you made them think they wanted to be ruled. • Pierce thought he could still turn Fury, or at least, as he was, use him in place. After all, Pierce knew Fury's take-no-prisoners mentality aligned with Hydra's goals for the most part.

Umair Khan I actually went back and watched the dark knight and the only real redeeming factor of the movie was the joker and everything he did. Two faces reasoning for becoming evil was stupid and completely out of character. Batman threw away the sonar tech that could've been used in the dark knight rises to find bane and stop him but batman is so dumb he forgot he could just use the thing in extreme situations like the same way batman uses tank rounds and explosive to cause thousands of dollars in property damage.

I actually try not to compare the Dark Knight trilogy to the other super hero movies because, IMO, the trilogy isn't in the same genre. They keep things on a realistic level with very serious tones. Jokes are barley found. Most hero movies don't do that. Marvel studios knows that the scenarios seen on film are pretty far fetched so they add more of a light hearted tone with good comedy bits. The Dark Knight Trilogy isn't in the same genre

The bit about Fury's bulletproof vest might be explained: in Avengers, he was shot with a small pistol. In Cap 2, it looked like he was getting hit with something much larger. I don't know a lot about guns, but I figure a smaller caliber bullet could be stopped by the vest, but a larger one would go through it.
@ourlasthero5110 жыл бұрын
That is true, in this movie he was hit with a sniper rifle from a fairly close distance. I would assume that the rifle would be much more powerful than a pistol.
@Shuizid10 жыл бұрын
A vest just spreads the force of the bullet to a larger area while beeing a pretty solid material so the bullet doesn'T get through (still hurts and may break some bones). However bigger guns have to much force so the vest doesn't hold and there are also special bullet with thin tips which can penetrate a vest as well.
@zapy971510 жыл бұрын
The protection a vest of such type highly depends on what it was composed of, for instance Kevlar is only good for smaller caliber rounds, if there were say ceramic plates in the vest then he could just get back up and walk away.
@level58deathknight1810 жыл бұрын
Zapy97 (games) ...Ceramic plates? Wouldn't that shatter on impact?
@zapy971510 жыл бұрын
sorry when I say ceramic plates I mean like super ceramics made in a lab, that has a hardness comparable to diamonds. it is some really neat stuff, the US military use it in their protective body armors. it is not natural at all but it is super durable.

This is my favorite Honest trailer in a while because it summed up my feelings quite well. The movie was great, had great action scenes and was really well executed, but had some freakishly huge plot holes. That AND I never once thought that Fury was dead. Still though, the movie impressed me, and Cap had some awesome fights in there.
@vjollila9610 жыл бұрын
tv series called shields agents fills those plot holes
@herofromthedark10 жыл бұрын
vjollila96 That's the thing, though- a movie shouldn't need a TV series to cover its bases. The movie should stand on its own, and the TV series should stand on its own as well. Just because the TV series goes out of its way to help with the poor plotting of the movie does not make the movie's plot better. It's the same thing with the Star Wars expanded universe- the books and other media might cover for the plot holes in the movies (all SIX of them, not just the prequels!), but that doesn't excuse the errors in the movies.
@rasmus000310 жыл бұрын
herofromthedark I'd have to disagree. Marvel studios is selling their movies as a whole, the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), so it makes sense that there are plot points that aren't explained in the separate films. I agree that the movies should be able to stand on their own, but seeing as how Marvel has these huge plans for the franchises it doesn't make sense to think of them as separate entities.
@l.tc.503210 жыл бұрын

I love this movie. The fight scenes with captain america are like if Jason Bourne had super powers. heck the whole movie is like Jason Bourne quality of a spy flick. Its got a lot of precise and intense fighting and the plot development mysteries without feeling corny. The difference seems too be there's more fighting and the actual mystery that is revealed is a little over the top (because its based of a comic book). But overall I hope marvel can keep writing Captain America movies in this way.

Yep, same for me. Right after seeing Captain America: The First Avenger I became a huge fan of his character. It really bugs me when people are a fan of Captain America because, "He kicked so much ass in Winter Soldier!" And then dismiss the first movie, as well as his character in it, as meh. Sure Captain America kicked more ass in The Winter Soldier, but a superhero is defined just as much by character as they are power. Steve was already a great character for being brave, compassionate, and admirable. The people that can't appreciate Caps character before The Winter Soldier are missing out on his development to get where he is in WTS, and that development makes his character in the sequel all the better. And the first Captain America movie is freaking great. It's the second best MCU movie behind The Winter Soldier, imo.

It's funny how most of these aren't real criticisms, just minor nitpicks at best (worst?). Accounts to how awesome TWS is,The Russo bros. definitely passed the Honest Trailer-proof test.

Hydra was patient, and waited for the means to use the power to achieve their goals, to be developed.
@captainhowlerwilson5082 жыл бұрын
@@Klespyrian No they weren't. They were just nitpicks. HYDRA needed to wait till some point to try to achieve their goals. In fact, they almost succeeded until Cap, Fury, Hill and Romanoff's timely intervention.

Come to think of it, why does Bucky actually throw the shield back at the start? Considering that he probably knows enough about Captain America who is Hydra's mortal enemy, and therefore knows about the shield which is literally almost indestructible and composed of a hyper-rare element only found in Wakanda, he should have just nabbed it at the start.
@KenzieScott548 жыл бұрын
Bucky wasn't in control of his mind, and so he probably wasn't thinking that far ahead. His mission at that point was to kill Nick Fury, not to weaken Captain America. He didn't know what HYDRA was planning.

Ooooooor, his transformation back has already started. I can imagine that simply seeing Steve triggers a process that will lead to him ultimately questioning everything around him. At that point he has no idea who Steve is, and doesn't even realize that he _might not be the HYDRA killing machine he thought he was_, his confusion comes way later in the movie. But what if at that point it only reached the surface and it started when Steve started chasing him? Maybe throwing the shield back can be seen as a subtle, unintentional sign of his subconscious starting to question his reality.
