SPOILERS it was for a experiment needed to examine the brains of the children. Some are immune to the virus others are not. All of there brains are monitored till they find the one child they need to harvest. The maze is simply a situation made to trigger chemicals in the brain that could lead to a cure to save humanity from the flare. Wich was not caused by the sun flare but by mankind in an attempt to lower population since supplies were to Low but it became incredibly contagious wich led to the maze being made. Source: the books

while I can understand why people say reading the books will answer why (whatever the question is), that doesn't change the fact that as a movie, that is not a excuss for plot holes. each version of anything should stand on its own legs.

Jennifer Davila Oh, i can't agree with you. Many things are not explained in the trilogy! Dashner had a good idea for the story, but he couldn't finish it. He left a lot of issues unsolved. 1st book was good, 2nd was meh.. and the 3rd as better then 2nd, but also meh. I was really disappointed. And the 4th one is not explaining anything from the trilogy either...

No, in this case the books are shit as well. First 25% of the first book were really promising, but then it got gradually dull and contrived. The ending's like in the movie, pure idiocy. The second book isn't even worth mentioning. I haven't seen the movie but from this trailer it looks like it's fairly close to the book, which is not a compliment for once.
@AlmightyBeing
@AlmightyBeing 9 жыл бұрын
A lot of the questions are still unanswered after reading the first book, so some of them were on purpose and are gradually explained and revealed throughout the series or when the protagonist discovers them. So your not meant to know what's going on really.

I am certain that this movie would, in the real world, end with exactly one surviving boy having sex with the girl. Let's be honest here. A bunch of teenage boys, with no adult figure, no memory, and no aggression outlet, is a recipe for horrible, horrible things. Wait three years and throw a girl into the mix, and you'll have an instant bloodbath. There is nothing more clever, ruthless, and straight up unstoppable, than a teenager with a boner.

@@charleybrett1663 The movies are completly different from the books. The first book and movie are kind of following the same plot but still, there are SO MANY things that in the movie do not make sense but they do in the book. In the first movie you see raining, in the book there is no rain, clouds, anything. In the books they are actually trapped under a huge screen that shows the sun or the moon depending on the hour. And then you start reading the second book and you realize that it's actually NOTHING like the movies. There is ONE scene. One single scene that is the same. Minho gets striked by a thunder. That's it. Everything else is completly different

The book is so much better, in the movie, the story is just made so complicated that it becomes really hard to follow, while still trying to squeeze a 500 page book in only two hours of movie, without cutting a single thing. It still is a good movie, but if you read the book, you know which one is better. The books almost always are better.

While yes the books are very, very good and well thought out how does everyone seem to forget how bs the last one was. The ending was basically: You're all immune to the flare and this whole thing was a convoluted plot to get all the immune people together so they can start humanity anew. WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST DO THAT AT THE START GOD DAMN IT !!!!!!
@moishethebeadle96
@moishethebeadle96 8 жыл бұрын
Lmao, exactly. What a shitty ending. I can't believe they killed off Teresa, the 2nd most important character, 7 pages before the series ended and it has practically no effect on Thomas at the end, despite her saving his life and always being with him. Yet when Newt is killed (though I do understand that him and Thomas were best friends and Thomas murdered him in cold blood) it had a clear and massive effect on Thomas' conscious throughout the entire book. And to have Teresa just die like that, so quick and sudden, with no mention of it again? Not to mention Brenda, that stupid bitch. Nobody explained her relation to the Flat Trans at the end. I'm betting that she is actually Chancellor Paige. Whatever. The book left too many questions unanswered and it actually saddens me that Teresa died and nobody spoke about it or cared about it at all. Not to mention Newt and the others and how they end up in "paradise" while WICKED obtained the data that they had after the FIRST FUCKING BOOK.

This is the ONLY time I have ever said this but I think I preferred the second and third movies to the books! The novels felt like they were going around in circles and like nothing ever productive happened. In scenes that were supposed to be sad (Newts death for example) things went so fast I didn't even have time to comprehend what was happening let alone shed a tear! I think that although the movies strayed from the original plot it actually saved the series for me. Everything was so much clearer and the actions of characters made more sense.

there is one strange part you missed. The maze is 3 years old, every month there is a new kid in the maze, that is 3x12=36 so there only could be 36 kids. if you look good at the wallscene where all those names are at the beginning of the movie you see there are already 5 names crossed out, that means there are like 31 kids left. When the grievers invade the camp you see at least 100 kids run criss cross and eventually die... EXPLAIN THAT!

I can see the resemblance between all 3 movies, but I'm pretty sure The Maze Runner is WAAAY more elaborate than THG and Divergent. Trust me I'd know because I read all 3 sagas. I hate when people just bash on the books/movies because they 'think' theyre all the same. THG and Divergent revolve around bad politics, The Maze Runner is actually a bit more interesting. And the reason every answer in the movie leaves 2 more questions to ponder about, is because theres a whole network of shit happening around the Gladers that they arent aware of, thus us not knowing anything because we are placed in their shoes. Everything gets answered in the end though so if u really wanna know, keep watching the movies or reading the books or both, like me. I think this book to movie adaptation is better than most, so Id give it a chance. I love Honest Trailers tho, and this one is just as funny as the rest.

I watched the movies a while ago with a buddy of mine, and the first one confused the hell out of us. If they have the materials to build a ladder, why don't they try to make a really tall one to climb on top of the maze? If it would be too unstable then why not go into the maze during the day and find some vines to climb to get on top? If they're on top then they would be safe cuz the spider bots can't get there, and if they can then the idea that the walls keep them safe wouldn't make sense.

Because the Glade was built by the Creators/Thomas and Teresa and they programmed it so it would basically do what they say. 3. idk lol 4. They aren't trying to kill them off they put them in the maze to study their brain patterns so they could find a cure. 5. The solar flares didn't cause the virus the Post-Flares Consolation crated it and released it 6. Answer 4 🤓 And there WAS a love triangle, Newt, Thomas and Teresa 😉

Bruce Lucas Jr Exactly. Building this ridiculous maze thing in a world that’s apparently running out of resources, kidnapping the boys, erasing their memories, and putting them in life-threatening situations ... not to mention engineering the giant killer spider monsters. Surely someone could’ve thought of an easier way?
