One major thing always bugged me. Apparently assisting with peace for the year, clean up of undesirables and whatnot. But what about the massive mourning, outrage and revenge that would happen days, weeks, months after? Your house was burned down, your belongings stolen, you had dear ones who were tortured, raped and killed, apparently you are totally dandy with that and resume life as normal? How are you suppose to act around the neighbors, community members, classmates, coworkers or whomever afterward when you know what they did to you the night before? It's just not realistic, people would never act like that. No magical off switch. Trauma and sorrow happen heavily after things like war, genocide, natural disasters, famine etc that last generations. Sociological, psychologically, even economically (I mean, geez, if a dozen of your workforce gets butchered and need to hire and retrain, or simply losing your best and brightest that could improve society) not logical. And the matter of managing all those corpses. And blood, body fluids and guts splattered everywhere imagine the disease concerns and hazards. And apparently homeless are so passive they just wait around without protest for the purge to start, for years and years. Not to mention the messed up understanding of how the human psyche works and how real psychopaths actually act and behave. And of course other buttload of problems and nonsense that people already and logically brought up which I won't annoyingly repeat. 👍 I know many movies require some belief suspension, but this is just waaayyyy too beyond to be able to actually settle in, relax and let it all go. It's too irritating. Maybe in the premise was more realistic and thought out, it has potential to be something eerie instead of just a violent typical bloodfest with personal unoriginal preachy agendas thrown in.

These movies should just be a collection of stories from different POVs, showing people commit or prevent the crimes that would actually be happening. Like robbery, revenge killing, vandalism, some hate crimes, maybe even streaking, but most human beings don’t have a murder boner

If the purge were a thing, I would either disappear into the woods two days before, or I would plot a scheme to pull out a heist to rob 50 kilograms of platinum, without breaking the rules about not using explosives. It doesn't has to be platinum, you get the idea.
