Easy answer: she got burnt out! She filmed Lizzie McGuire from 2000-2002, broke into music in 2002, was in 2 to 3 movies a year, released an album every single year and was constantly touring the world! Looking back it’s kind of a miracle she didn’t have any public breakdowns given her insane schedule and how hard she was working! I’m glad she took a career hiatus cuz frankly she needed one for her own mental health and well-being!

I was basically born when Lizzie McGuire ended, but I got to watch a little bit when I was child, last year I got the chance to have a Disney+ subscription and one of the first things I did was start watching Lizzie McGuire (the show and movie) and while I was watching I also started listening to some of her songs, eventually I finished Lizzie McGuire and listened to all her albums and watched a few other projects where Hilary has starred in. I really love Hilary as a person, she’s so sweet. Her 2007 album, Dignity, is easily one of my favorite albums ever, I found it to be like the B-Side of Blackout (by Britney Spears which was also released on 2007), it had a similar sound, but it sounded really good too and some songs have solid themes, it’s not full of deep cuts, but it is pretty great for an album released under Hollywood Records. Her album Metamorphosis is also pretty good, it sounds very early-2000s ish teen pop and I also looove that sound 🥰 Hilary is the original Disney teen star, she never had to do this drastic move or go through a very explicit stage in her life, she was this very nice person and wasn’t forced to put on a full “nice girl” act like the later teen stars which were forced to basically be like Hilary only with a different face and roles, it was so wrong for Disney to force that. But anyway, without Hilary Duff, we wouldn’t have many artists like Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and especially, Olivia Rodrigo who is the latest star that Disney has presented to the world, all the Disney ex-acts had to go through literal sh*t for current new artists to have more freedom and at least I’m very thankful and supportive of all of them.

Who's that girl, danger, fly, with love, wake up, Jericho, I'll give anything but up, so yesterday, holiday and the list goes on and on. Dignity still holds up as a great pop album to this day. Breathe in breathe out had a horrible roll out with poor lead single choices imo. Sparks could've been the one single that would've cracked the top 30 but they had to ruin it by making it a tinder advertisement. It could've been done so much better. By the time the "fan demanded" version came out it was the late and hype was gone. But the fact that the album still debuted at number 5 is still an impressive accomplishment. Considering the lead singles didn't do that well. Another interesting thing is that every single one of Hilary duff album charted in the top 5 despite her never having a top 20 hit. I think it really shows you that Hillary will always have a faithful audience that enjoys her music

I LOVE Hillary Duff to this day. Her Instagram is so cute. Whilst social media isn't a true reflection of life, she seems genuinely chilled with her life and I'm here for it. I love how she quietly phased out of Hollywood and I would be curious to know if she had more adult "protection" during her career as compared to other Disney stars which lead to her "normal" trajectory.
