Momentum is king! I remember when he won the race when his chain broke at the beginning of the track! the fact he could not pedal once and still won was beyond crazy

I like these crossover interviews. Any chance of getting Shaun Palmer on Gypsy Tales? This guy was competitive at a top level in everything he tried, including all his extracurricular activities.

@@GYPSYTALES Yeah, as a guy who raced and competed in a bunch of different sports at an expert level, this guy could do it all at a pro level without even trying. Maybe someday this podcast will come together. You are definitely the guy who needs to interview him. It would be epic.

Please bring more of this content Jase. Wil Hahn touched on his cycling routine for 3 minutes and I was mesmerized. Timed very well for my first solo century.

This is cool. There is such a crossover between cycling and moto. Would be cool if you had some cycling related stuff about training too. (Like I see Adam Cianciarulo is friends with Lawson Cradock, a pro US cyclist. I've always been curious if the moto guys could hang with fast MTB/Roadies, and thought guys like Kenny would be really good at MTB Enduro)
@lazurus2222 жыл бұрын
No way in fu** these guys could run with guys in the tour de France or any like that , a local pro cyclist maybe . Some of those guys have vo2 Max of 90.
@gregcavanaugh62592 жыл бұрын
@@lazurus222 no, I didn't mean can they moonlight in the pro peloton. Moreso, I live just a couple hours from Tomac. If he uses Strava while he trains, he keeps it private. I'd be curious how he'd do if he showed up to an MTB race against some of the Durango riders. Or how these guys that train on the road all the time, could they ride Cat 1?
@lazurus2222 жыл бұрын
@@gregcavanaugh6259 ive wondered about your exact question too. I don't think they would be all that competitive in a 3-4 hour road or mountain bike race . They do all this heavy training to go all out on a dirt bike for 35 minutes . From the vlogs I've seen from AC and similar guys , they are doing bike rides that have maybe 40 minutes of super intense climbing and then a fairly easy downhill descent . Big difference in that short 30 minute burst of all out intensity VS 4 hours of high cadence bike riding . Who knows though hahaha.

Barcia being trained by Tom Danielson also.

Ya any motocross/supercross pros wouldn't only admit to cycling not MTB. Cycling is obviously safer and they don't want to tell their team and sponsors they are training MTB and risking injury.

It's been said Ken Roczens is a G on an MTB, do you recon if Roczen cut is moto career short, then focused on MTB, could he have a few years on the EWS/WC DH?

I’ve never liked the feeling of jumping a bicycle feels so light and stiff they are imo to uncontrollable if you take off or land wrong with moto you have a throttle to panic rev and brake tap as well to keep you out of bad situations, I still rode bmx as a kid couldn’t afford a dirtbike. Actually some of my worst injuries are from a bmx bike lol
@keystonerider13082 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you need to give it another try. They go hand in hand. Try out a high end full suspension bike you’ll see. Depending on where you are go rent one at a downhill park. I’ve had more fun on my mtb than I ever did on a mx bike.

Why..? He never trained on mountain bikes and he hasn't even on any type of bike in years... plus he's entirely out of shape. Even Malcolm only trains on road bike, not mountain bikes. They're totally different.. it's like Supercross vs motocross, they may both be on dirtbikes but they're 2 entirely different sports because they're so different from one another
