Very impressed by the MAC box! Seemed absolutely perfect for a grownup who is new to makeup or rarely wears it, but doesn’t want cheap kid stuff. I figured there would be more “weird” products lol! Prob not the best gift for someone with a big collection already (we all have mascara, black liner, & red lippy for days/years), but perfect for a grown adult who wants to occasionally decorate themself. I’m not a MAC girl, but they were one of the first companies to actively fundraise for AIDS research & were extremely respectful in their work. They are a favorite brand of makeup professionals, even when not “trendy” & all the products you got looked like really good ones. I thought the eyeshadow duo was fun but still very practical.

I was also a stationary kid and had one of the big foldover things for all my pens, like the typo one (only a bit more colourful!). Love the typo box - notebooks are so expensive, you definitely get your money's worth. I need the clam pen holder!

I love Cow Tales! They're a US sweet, I think. The outside looks "off" because it's a caramel taffy coated in cornstarch or maybe powdered sugar to prevent it from sticking to the packaging!

I have watched dozens of advent calendar unboxings. Im American but I’ve noticed that none of the US ones are worth buying, but luxury boxes from UK brands do seem to be fantastic! I am not really Christian anymore but advent calendars are so opposite of the intention for advent, I don’t do it, but I’m thinking about trying to get one after the holidays on mark down… there’s just something about British department stores that the US doesn’t “get.”

Can I please say something about the date on shelf stable foods, that date is not a "gone off date" it is a sell by date or best by date. All that date means is either the retailer will remove it from the shelf at full price or return to the vendor for a refund if it's a sell by date. For best by dates that is a date from the manufacturer that is their guarantee that their product will be at its freshest if you consume by the printed date if you've stored it properly. The best by dates are usually 12-18 months or more before the actual date estimated by the company that their product can start to lose freshness. There is only one shelf stable item that has an actual "expiration date" which is baby formula. If you think about things logically let's consider if the dates were actually a "gone off date" or "expiration date" the day before that date how is it that the item could possibly be perfectly fine to eat up until 24:00 but 1 minute later when it reaches the date on the package suddenly it's going to poison you or immediately go bad, it's impossible & unfortunately these dates have lead to so much unnecessary food waste throughout the world when there are so many people struggling with food insecurity. This is also a play by the manufacturer, if they posted the more realistic best by date it may be another year or more before you buy more stuff from them. Store everything in a cool dry place & that food can actually stay fresh for half a decade.

I don't mean to dampen it but some of the typo things were recently on the sale section, I.e mug was £2, stress ball £1 or £2, the shell might have been £3. Just thinking if they put a lot of the sale items in the thirty pound one, it may be closer to the price than you think, similar to the stationary one too. Thank you for the video!!

before watching the video: it is a fun idea ngl, but they do scream wasteful to me. how many products will actually be used? food ones are only good if a group shares it imo. household/ beauty/ toy ones are so wasteful as theres now way you like 100% of whats in there and then it just promotes overconsumerism. price wise- i think it may be worth a lot more rrp wise, however is it actually worth what you pay when you think things are generally overpriced anyway and price per item may be good but if you dont use a few items the price per item of used products is then higher. sorry for the essay lmao. thoughts after: this was a fun video. maybe im too picky with food/stuff so they aren't for me, but for t hose that will try anything they seem fun. especially like the stationary ones!
