I don't like the way the comparison is made. At some point, you have to compare what's comparable. Pitting Taylor Swift against Céline Dion or Patti Labelle against Britney Spears is irrevelent and not fair to any of them! Plus, the video seems to suggest that being a good singer is solely about hitting the highest notes, which is NOT the case! And editing the video to make it seem like the "good" singers are laughing at the "bad" ones was pure pettiness. There's nothing funny about shaming others! Fortunately, the vocal coach is professional enough to remain respectful and to not fall into that trap!

I agree with you. Kesha is a good singer, she has improved over the years since 2010 that she started. Miley is a very good singer... I think that we only saw her worst performances because you can see her singing 'Malibu' on the Billboard Music Awards and she owned the stage but that's only one of her best performances. I'm glad you mentioned the quality of the sound. If you can't hear yourself, it's difficult to be at your best. I'm not a fan of vocal calisthenics and often find them distracting from the song. Some great singers don't do them at all. But everyone has his/her reasons for appreciating a particular singer.
