I'd never heard of this book until I received an email the other day about it and now you've posted a video. Clearly this is the universe's way of telling me I need to read it. Sounds wonderful.

I first read her book "The Asowa Murders,".. it was different, yet I found myself enjoying her writing style. I Grew up around/with Japanese culture and as I've aged I have found myself going back to and wanting to experience the culture again, so I've had plenty of late nights watching shows like "Quartet," or "first love".. I've even gone as far to travel to independent movie theaters to see independent film's from Japan, recently I saw "Drive My Car," .. and yeah.. reading books such as "south of the border west of the sun," "At the end of the matinee".. sorry for the randomness; I'm just excited to read it.

Hi I have been watching your videos for a while but it's my first time commenting because I became so excited when I saw that you reviewed this book! Wow I never knew this got translated into English!!! I had to take a second look at the title and I realized it was the book I had read. I listened to the classics mentioned in the book while reading it and I think it amplified the experience. I'm so glad you love it because I love it as well. It was one of my favorite books last year!

I just requested my library get a copy. I've had this author on my radar for a bit but haven't got round to reading anything. Sounds like it's time to change that.

Thank you Willow 😍💗 for introducing me to this book ✨it sounds like a captivating and thought-provoking read, exploring the lives of young women in Tokyo and their journeys towards self-discovery and artistic expression. I love how the title symbolizes the small but powerful changes in our lives. Your review has definitely piqued my interest in this novel, and I can't wait to add it to my reading list 🥂

This is one of my most anticipated releases of this year! The way you described the book reminds me of a really similar korean drama- Do you like Brahms? The show also talks about competition and how fickle failure and success can be with themes of friendship and love. Great review✨️

Thanks for the review. I hate to get on to you , but we discussed this before The Aosawa Murders is one of the best books I ever read ( based on your recommendation) and you need to get to it. I have Fish in Dappled Sunlight but I haven’t read as I have been hoarding it but since there is the Distant Thunder I ll hoard that and read Fish Swimming

Added 😂 just bought Mort the other day. On the topic of music and how it can carry you through life, I'd highly recoommend "Fire On All Sides" by James Rhodes. Have a lovely Weekend, willow ❤

Oh I'm so going to read this! I And I'm definitely not an expert in classical music but I really love symphonic metal (I went to a metal concert yesterday! Just had to mention that, lol) Also sorry to bring up something unrelated to the video, but I love that you own the trans bunny plush from Mysterious. A friend bought me the asexual bunny and I named him Fergie. :)
