Thank you! I thought I’d broken it 😂 I’m grateful for the advice ❤

Hello, a few of my HR92 controllers are not opening the radiotor valve in the right way. When requesting heat from the boiler I can hear the HR92 opening the valve a bit, but no warm water if flowing through it yet. It seems that only from around 30/40% opening warm water starts flowing. So the results is that the HR92 keeps requesting heat, but the radiator will never heat up, because the valve is not opening (enough). Is there a way to calibrate this? It is a new valve, the pin easily pushed in and coming out again and I calibrated the wheel as in the video.

Its normally poor quality TRV valve bodies (with rubber plungers/stoppers) that cause this issue. My advice would be to fit HR91's and HR92's to decent quality TRV valves such as these (thesmartthermostatshop.co.uk/product-category/honeywell-home/radiator-valves-honeywell-home/). If radiator valves are over 15 years old, they should really be changed. More info here - thesmartthermostatshop.co.uk/radiator-valve-compatibility/

I'm having the exact same issue on all of my valves (2 is brand new out of the 5). I created a video showing the problem: kzbin.info/www/bejne/apLCl2R8nqybo80. Based on the sounds, I'm fully closing the valve in the 5-6. seconds on the video, but still can turn the valve a lot afterwards. I know, that there's a feature for full throttle on the thermostat, but I don't think it's a good solution, since on full throttle the water in the radiator is much louder, which is a problem at night. It's a pity that there's no setting for handling valve opening for different temperature ranges, or the ability to set the end positions of the valve properly. @mwphs do you think, that the valves on the list would work properly (meaning that at 10% opening they would open the valve at 10%)?

What should I do next if the control is not calibrating despite doing what you suggested in the video? The battery has two bars so it still has plenty of battery power it would seem. Thanks for your help.

Do you need to fully open the black hand wheel for all HR92s?
@MWPHSАй бұрын
You should do this at the initial calibration stage for all HR92’s. 👍🏻

Do you know how to fix when the baseplate won't turn when removed from the radiator? I asked my husband to change the battery and suddenly it's broken 🙄 he removed the entire valve and now I can't get it back on

It might be broken unfortunately and getting a replacement is like rocking horse poo! 👀

We have HR91s throughout the house. I have tried tried to replace one for a HR92 but it appears to have a different baseplate so it's not as straightforward as I thought.
@MWPHS Жыл бұрын
The HR91 and HR92 have exactly the same valve baseplate, so should be as easy as unclipping the one and adding the other.

Hi A few weeks ago I found that one of my HR92 Radiator Controllers in a bedroom, was set at 35 degrees way above what it was programmed to be at. I manually set it to the temperature it should have been and it appears to have worked correctly since. My wife and I are certain that we did not accidentally touch it. Last night I found that the the controller in the bathroom was displaying a lite and later found that it was set to 35 degrees, so I manually reset it. After lunch today I again found it set to 35 degrees and with the manual round symbol displayed, even though we has not touched it.Can you advise what might be causing this and how to fix it. I have now, after watching your video, recalibrated both Controllers, the bases of both were turned quite hard in a clockwise position and I have now rectified this. The valves ar nine years old. Many thanks in anticipation.

You ave the info on the display 180 degrees rotated. How? I can not find this setting.

This model is built for the UK. The European model has the screen 180° the other way around.

That was super clear and helpful -- thank you! We have the HR91 in some of our rooms. I assume the process is the same (of course without the CYCL showing up anywhere)?
@MWPHS10 ай бұрын
Yes, process is the same for the HR91, but when you twist the locking catch closed the same thing happens but you just don't know because of the lack of display screen.

Hi. One of my radiators isn’t switching off. The black hand wheel feels stiff. Can I simply remove and clean? Is it safe to apply a little WD-40?
@MWPHS10 ай бұрын
I wouldn't apply WD40, it sounds like you need a new valve base plate. We sometimes get them come up for sale here (thesmartthermostatshop.co.uk/product/m30-x-15mm-valve-base-plate-for-honeywell-hr92-radiator-controller-50064648-001/) or contact Resideo and they may be able to assist with a replacement on 0300 130 1299.
