I agree but, I just wish he told you what buttons he presses so I don’t have to look at the video and reply it. Also that once to change the code to get into programming in the beginning. That he would mention getting back into programming is the 4digit code you enter and then 800 afterwards. For example what he typed in 4321, so to get into programming again afterwards he changed it would be 4321800.

Excellent step by step that follows the install manual for the 20P. When I replaced my 1985 vintage Ademco panel with the Vista 20 P, 6160 RF and Tuxedo touch, I struggled a bit on the programming. That struggle was eased by going back to this video as I added more RF contacts. Next up is to add the IP cameras, This video reminds me to go back and double check the programming that is in place. Following the video and the suggested setting will make it a lot less of a headache! Thanks Fox Guard!

Field 64 isn't to let you know if the system is on test. It is for setting the test report time: once a day, once a week, or once every 28 days. The panel then sends a test signal to the monitoring company who in turn can report back if they have received it or not in the time it was expected.

Excellent video. Trying to find some programming tutorials for our new techs. I program vista's on a daily basis. Vista 20, 32, 128 etc. One thing I like to do is *97 before i ever start programming. I also enter the same digits for both partitions. So entry exit will be 30, 30. Ee2 will usually be 40,40. Depending on circumstances. Wish you would have hooked up some demonstration devices on the hardwired zones even if merely a 2k resistor at the end of the wires to simulate a smoke, door, motion etc. Amazing video through and through.

I wish you hadn’t skipped *24 “RF House ID Code”. The whole reason I installed the Vista-20P is because I have it integrated with an RTI automation system. I have a wireless contact on my Pool gates, and I intend on programming an event on the RTI side where, if someone opens the pool gate before disarming it, all the TVs in the house will come on, then change the inputs to the overhead pool camera NVR in order to see if my autistic son has escaped out there. I need to know all I can about this security system. I’m using the Ademco 4232CBM module to communicate with it. I already know how to integrate with a Security system that has already been programmed, I just don’t know how to program the security system 100% just yet. Thanks for the existing info though.
@krachel99 Жыл бұрын
@WillCorg this is an extremely helpful and graciously free tutorial for maybe DIYers, new techs, etc. Once you talk about potentially life saving security measures for your autistic son, DIY KZbin tutorials shouldn’t even be in picture. These systems are always potentially live saving tools, but we hope the day never comes that that person who would trigger the alarm shows up, whereas in your situation that person not only lives in the house, but is your autistic son; in your situation the threat is present 24/7. In your situation you should be dealing with a competent professional, not a KZbin tutorial, good though it may be. What you’re talking about relying on your system for goes well beyond the typical Vista 20P use and how 95%+ of users use it. When it comes to an alarm meant to alert you if your autistic son should head out for some pool time, please consult a professional.

I watched the whole thing and I still don't know how to turn of the audible alert chime that happens when the 'Check 103 LngRng Radio' alert goes off. That happens when the radio transmitter loses contact with the home station even temporarily. I probably have a weak cell signal in my area and the transmitter is usually restored within seconds of losing the signal (probably because AT&T has some temporary interference) and I can just clear the code but oh, that annoying alert sound that sometimes happens at 2 AM. Even if this happens once or twice a year it's enough for me to just unplug my Honeywell Vista entirely. I would think that since the warning shows up visibly on the panel there 'should' be a way to disable to alert chime. But I haven't found it yet. Not even after watching this video 😐

Hoping someone can help. My panel fell off the wall and the wires disconnected. Through trial and error, I think I have the wires reconnected correctly. From left to right, matching the order in the box: black, red, blue, yellow. This is the only wiring pattern that returns any type of response, which is just flashing red lights for Message and Alarm, and flashing green light for Ready. The keypad is unresponsive. Pressing the keys does not produce any beeps. The display screen is blank. I tried pressing and holding 1 and 3, but still no response beyond the continuously rapid-flashing lights. Thank you

It sounds like you have a system that was installed by a dealer who changed the installer code and locked the panel so only they could service the system. If I’m not mistaking, if that’s the case and you don’t have the dealers code, you are locked out. It’s one of the last steps in programming and is a risky move. I’ve actually known of installers within companies change it to their code for the same reason. It’s pretty much considered a dick move in the industry.
