What I miss most from the sights in Hong Kong during the covid-19 pandemic is thousands upon thousands of domestic workers from the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia . . . on holiday in all the public parks and squares.

Hai Alan nice video... can u make video walking Beijing or Sichuan
@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV5 жыл бұрын
Hi Haryanto. Beijing will have to wait for quite awhile 😅 No plans to visit it anytime soon. As for the province of Sichuan, the closest I filmed is the city of Chongqing. You can check it out in my Chongqing playlist 😊 Chengdu would be a city I aim to film sometime in the near future.

That was a great video. I was very surprised the crosswalk lights are the same as those in the US: they flash a green walking figure when clear and then red. I thought they would be like some found in Europe where they have the universal red (don't walk) yellow (clear intersection immediately) and green (proceed). The only time I ever visited was when the Kowloon Walled City still existed! It was torn down only a year later.

Glad to hear from you largo and thanks for sharing your experiences. One thing I can definitely know it's Hong Kong, is when I hear the traffic light sounds. I'm not widely travelled but I always associated thst crossing sounds with Hong Kong. Its nice you saw this video. Its almost like a "forgotten child" in my Hong Kong playlist 😊 one of my happier walks

The pedestrian crossing lights actually work in the same way as they do in the UK (unsurprisingly from Colonial times). Green = Safe to start crossing, Flashing Green = Continue crossing but do not start crossing, Red = Not safe to cross. There's a distinct difference too in the beeping tones to match those three states.

Singapore best or hongkong ?
@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV5 жыл бұрын
Haha. Tricky question. Both are unique in its own way. To say one if better (or best) over the other is like saying is the Sun or Moon prettier. Both are, in their other way. So the same for Singapore and Hong Kong. Both has its plus and minus points 😄
@gurbindersingh83325 жыл бұрын
Haha great, you went singapore also that's why I'm asking to you. By dy way for me Singapore is best
@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV5 жыл бұрын
@@gurbindersingh8332 Haha. Thanks for sharing "why" you asked. As a Singaporean, this topic (my opinion) is very sensitive. Don't want to ruffle feathers (especially with what Hong Kong is going through right now). Personally as a traveller in Hong Kong, I enjoy its nature walks (Dragon's Back Trail, Lautau trail etc) and observing their architecture. I live in densly packed Singapore, but Hong Kong is a whole different level. Its mind boogling how tightly packed everything is over there. The best thing about Singapore is its food. Hands down I really think our choices and selection are better. This is of course a bias view and personal preference 😅 When I see travellers come to Singapore just to visit Gardens by the Bay, Jewel Changi etc, I "shake" my head. They could be spending all that time eating instead 😋😂

Good catch. I started from Tsim Sha Tsui and walked further west to the HSR station. I didn't know what this whole area is called so just named it Tsim Sha Tsui for simplicity. Thanks for the comment 😄
