For self taught that was quite good introduction. I used to teach people how to bore and hone motorcycle cylinders using SUNNEN hones almost identical to yours. Only difference was the adjuster, knurled wheel instead of lever style. They are VERY robust and don't get broken easily when students pull rotating hone from cylinder and parts fly 'everywhere' 'We' did a LOT of Harley Davidson 883 to 1200 conversions (bore 0.495 " of material from cylinder, about a pound of cast iron 'dust' ) Had students finishing to within 0.0001" of spec. Never heard of Delapena before, guess they have been in business less than 25 years? Also, first time I've heard of 'mixer drills', AMMCO instructions say to use 400rpm on up to 4.000" cylinder, school used Milwaukee heavy duty corded, broke about one every six weeks on average

What brand is your portable hone? Sunnen AN? Ive never seen that micrometer adjustment before. Looks sturdier and easier to adjust.

Watch all three parts the details are given in the videos. It’s not micrometer adjustable, it’s done by feel.

Holy shit what did you bore that cylinder with a chainsaw???

Clearly it’s time the insert was rotated after this bore, but secondly the quality of the cast iron used in these blocks is much less than used in others, these engines produced as cheap as possible, using the cheapest materials and heat processing. A good finish is produced an higher quality iron, such as that found in typical spun cast iron liners and that used in older blocks specifically the Cooper ‘s’ where the cast is harder and much finer. You have to remember I am deliberately showing a rough surface to show the need for honing after boring.
