I'd like to give a suggestion, no spoilers. The character you see here with the pink hair is named Elysia. She will appear at a much later point in the story from where you are at the end of a chapter as a teaser for a side game mode called "Elysian Realm", which unlocks at level 50. It is VITAL that you clear the storyline of Elysian Realm before beginning Chapter 29 of the main story, as Elysian Realm is a very important story line that is spoiled at Chapter 29, as it is at that point that Elysian Realm's plot line intersects with the main chapters becomes part of the main story. It's also important to not play it early, as Elysian Realm takes place after meeting Elysia in the main story, and it naturally has spoilers for events prior to that as a result. Also, if you're ever wondering which manga to read, and when, there's a handly little "Manga" button in the bottom right of the story select screen! Very useful.

I'd argue that you could start ER as early as chapter 18. I know that technically we see Mei do things between Thunders over Nagazora and when she actually enters ER but, as far as I remember, there's not a lot of callbacks to that in the ER chapters except a few little things (and they're not even that important, like Mei having seen the 7T while working with Raven). The 3 ER chapters are long. Depending on how fast you progress in the main story, you could end up arriving at chapter 29 before finishing the ER story if you only start after chapter 25, which is the point where Kevin allows her in. And not finishing the ER story before the Elysium Everlasting arc would be a *big* problem in terms of immersion.

@@kamanira Yeah, it's only after coming back from the Theater of Domination that Mei confronts Kevin like "hey, there was something weird about that Herrscher" and Kevin sends her to meet his dead friends. The actual timeframe where you can do ER without spoilers is super thin. And it's even worse if you consider you need to do chapter 1 and 2 before the end of Kolosten but need to wait to *just* before False God Otto to proceed with chapter 3 (since Mei coming back to ER spoils that she met up with Kiana) but that you also need to finish chapter 3 before proceeding with chapter 29 of the main story. Tl;dr: ER connectivity with the main story is a mess. I say go for it after chapter 17 or 19 and do not worry about the very slight callbacks to the main story, they're not that present.

Same here. I knew the game has really great story and nice action combat but I didn’t have time to play. But I always watch Honkai anime and listen the songs. They’re so emotional and the melody is so great to hear. I shed tears listening the songs and watching those anime shorts even tho I don’t fully know the story.

Honkai star rail is definitely a lot more different from both Genshin and Honkai in terms of lore, the only real reason it has Honkai in the title is because it has characters who are from Honkai and have similar designs, but from what we've seen so far, there's nothing much in common really.
