It's funny how HSR's meta feels like it progresses so quickly with patch-to-patch HP inflation while also feeling like it doesn't progress nearly fast enough (rip DOT enjoyers still waiting on that dedicated support)

Honestly this video speaks for me The merging break and DoT bit, I've been already talking about that even before superbreak was a thing The Crowd control meta, freez imprisonment and entanglement should have a dedicated playstyle and charcters that take advantage of those certain debuffs, it'd make the game more strategized and give a taste of uniqueness to each character

Honestly I could see that with some of the nihility blessings in simulated universe involve breaking toughness bar (like that 30% Break efficiency one that I always try to grab for my break team. Makes me wonder why that isn’t a destruction blessing instead).

I've been doing a lot of super break testing with dot and honestly it works really well with Kafka and it honestly works pretty well with Kafka due to her fast ult and Fua without sacrificing attack. It doesn't work that well with hmc because no break efficiency without Ruan Mei but fugue worked great when I tried her in story. Also exo break is amazing for Luka giving easy access to bleed Dot.

It would be great if there were more niche styles. You present a great point with them creating more "side-grades," instead of just power creeping everything out of content. Unfortunately, DOT is on life support. They are gonna have to come up with some *really* powerful buffs for it to be meta again. Even the buffs they give it for end game content just barely lets it clear - or so I hear.

Wish Fugue's Exo Toughness added 2 Break DOTs for DOT comps to proc. Else a DOT + Superbreak Enabler, who can make each DOT procs deal "toughness dmg" too, finishing the job of getting those delays and Break DOTs which can also deal Superbreak dmg each procs.

I think that the issue with Fugue is that she doesn’t even feel like a nihility unit, more like a harmony character with a random debuff application to shoehorn her into nihil. It’s simply just kinda obvious they wanted to make a unit for the sole purpose of replacing a free one to make us use remembrance MC, which is an inherent design flaw for an independent limited character.

They seem to be really against this idea of merging playstyles, break dot is great but fugue exo-toughness doesn't even aply break DOT, while the MOC exo-toughness did

As someone with Kafka and Swan, it really frustrates me that they gave Jiao an E2 to make his dot actually really good while his base kit dot is completely irrelevant. Jiao couldve been THE generalist nihility support with ult damage, debuffs, and dot but... Nope. Hes still good, and even outcompetes E1S1 Ruan Mei when at the same investment, but man it still sucks

I don't see a hits per action support ever working because too many units are designed in ways that completely break it. Unless they introduce new units that have an absolutely absurd hit count and by effect make all the old units useless with the mechanic in comparison, there is no way to balance it.

I agree HSR needs to keep its niche playstyles alive to not stagnate into "play break\fua\acheron or don't clear", but your Genshin takes are wrong. The vast majority of players in Genshin are casual and end-game content was never it's focus, but it still has the abyss for it, and the IT was always very popular. It might not be your cup of tea, but it encourages you to use all the units you built along the years and experiment with new comps. Also Geo isn't dead, Navia is a top tier dps, Xilonen a top tier support, solo Geo and Chiori might be niche but still work. DOT is by comparison far more forgotten.

Break isn't niche what niche is "Superbreak". So what we need first exactly isn't a mechanic like "Superbreak" but a universal one like Break, I can give you some examples: • *Elemental Fusion* Take Acheron for example, a lightning DPS, but then equip her with Fire DMG planar. Congrats you created Lightning + Fure fusion. You can also fuse element using harmony that give elemental DMG buff or Nihility that makes enemies vulnerable to certain elemental DMG. Different fusion will have different effects like bouncing the attacks, placing spore, etc. • *Reverse Break* I know it says "break" but it's not the same. Unlike break, you want to match your element/path with you allies. Each matching chars will have a bar under their HP which will fill up when they deplete toughness from enemies, the more toughness the better. After it filled up, it give an extra action to that character and a BIG buff based on their path.

Unfortunately HSR will probably never take the time to create niche playstyles outside of whatever the new META is since: - Niche characters don't sell since the game has conditioned everyone to always go after whoever makes the biggest numbers. - Game modes are too biased for any niche outside of what is being pushed to work properly without an unreal amount of investment. - A new niche usually needs an entire patch cycle to fully consolidate, which means that usually only 1 or 2 niches get any attention the whole year with other niches getting a crumb here and there.
